Skills of using natural light in photography

It is necessary for every photographer to make full use of natural light and on-site ambient light to create. Here are some techniques of using natural light in photography, hoping to help everyone!

1. Persistent light source

The biggest advantage of natural light is its durability, which gives photographers enough time to observe the environment and people carefully and helps to stimulate more shooting inspiration. Under uniform and relatively fixed lighting conditions, the characters in the picture are more likely to have internal relations, enter a certain situation and form a complete picture story.

2. Restore the real scene atmosphere

Another advantage of natural light shooting is that it can maintain the original environmental atmosphere to the maximum extent. The greatest significance of documentary wedding photography is to respect the wedding event itself. One of the main reasons why you don't use flash easily is that when you touch the flash, you have completely changed the original scene atmosphere. Even if I can take bright and clear photos, this is not what I want.

3. It will not destroy the mood of the characters.

Using natural light to shoot can minimize the interference caused by the camera to the subject. Undoubtedly, when the flash is working, it will attract everyone's attention at the scene and naturally destroy the atmosphere at that time. In fact, what I hope is to hide myself, quietly hide in a corner, and record those sincere feelings, touching details, and quietly blooming beauty. Many newcomers will be surprised to ask me when this photo was taken. It was these photos that brought them back to their wedding day, with many memories and many surprises. This may be difficult to do if the flash is used frequently.

4. Shooting skills under natural light conditions

1. When shooting a wedding, the most commonly used natural light is window light. This kind of light is soft and even, and the transition between light and shade is very natural. You can control the final lighting effect by adjusting the relative position of the graph and the window.

2. When the indoor light is insufficient, it is recommended to choose the aperture priority mode and set it to a larger aperture value, so that you can pay more attention to observing the scene.

3. When the main body does not move obviously, the shutter speed can be controlled at1/30s; When the character has some actions, the shutter can be controlled at 1/60s.

4. If you want to shoot beautiful light and shadow effects in low light, you can adjust the focus mode to manual, and at the same time, your body leans against the surrounding solid objects to shoot, and the shutter can be controlled at115s, or even slower.

5. Side lighting or side backlight is the most commonly used method for indoor shooting. Under this lighting condition, the picture is bright and dark, rich in layers, which is conducive to expressing the outline of the characters and emphasizing the depth and three-dimensional sense of space.

6. Under normal circumstances, the white balance can be adjusted to automatic or daylight.
