What are the photographing skills of telephoto cameras?

Shooting skills of telephoto camera

First of all, take a good photo and stabilize the camera at the vertex.

The first criterion for judging whether a photo is good or not is clarity. Even if the photographer is skilled in using light and has exquisite composition, a blurred photo will always fail, and the chief culprit leading to the blurred photo is the unstable grip. The biggest difference between telephoto camera and card machine is the body volume and lens focal length. Because the focal length of the lens is relatively long, there are strict requirements for the stability of the camera. To make the photos clear, the camera posture is very important.

Under normal circumstances, we will support the lens with our left hand close to the front of the camera (below the lens), hold the camera body with our right hand, hold the handle tightly, press the shutter with our forefinger, and adjust the optical zoom with our thumb. There is no absolute standard for the best posture, but mainly emphasizes comfort and stability. Considering the long time of framing and focusing, keep your arms close to your body instead of hanging, and stand with your legs slightly apart.

If you use LCD to view the scene, you can use the camera belt to hang around your neck and tighten it to form a triangle with your body and arms to improve the stability of the grip. If you take a picture with the viewfinder, you can stick the camera on your face and use your face to add a support point. From the actual shooting effect, it is easier to get a stable shooting picture by using the viewfinder.

If you want to get a high-speed shutter for hand-held shooting, you need high ambient light. If the above two hand-held methods still can't get a stable picture, you can use auxiliary objects to support it. The best choice is of course a tripod.

Second, the "bird hunter" sees the opportunity and then presses the shutter.

After many photographers buy a telephoto camera, the first thing they think of is "shooting birds". Indeed, the unique advantages of telephoto camera in lens make it have a special purpose-telephoto. However, it is not easy to shoot a good bird. The technical content is not low. Preparation before shooting birds is essential. We call it a point of concern.

First of all, we should know where there are the most birds and when and where they often appear. Don't rush to lift the camera and press the shutter. It is necessary to observe the rules of birds' activities patiently and choose a suitable shooting location. Adequate preparation can get twice the result with half the effort. If you are shooting a static bird, you must be gentle in the process of framing, zooming and composition. And then wait for the bird to stand firm on the water or treetops before shooting.

Before you press the shutter, you can have enough time for composition and exposure, and the background should be as clean as possible, so that the picture can easily highlight the theme. If you catch a bird in flight, it's difficult to photograph it. The first task is to increase the shutter speed, and at least 1/500 seconds can capture the flying posture of birds in the air. At this time, it is best to use aperture priority and adjust it to the maximum aperture to improve the cooperation between ISO and optical material prevention.

Considering the limited area of photosensitive elements of consumer cameras and the general noise control ability, ISO is not recommended to exceed 800. Try to choose a single point as the focus, don't pay too much attention to the first composition, and leave the fine works for later. The continuous shooting function must be used. Don't be stingy with the number of shutters, otherwise you won't be able to take wonderful photos. For some telephoto cameras without manual exposure function, you can use the motion shooting mode to achieve the same shooting settings.

Third, reading light can make a beautiful stage.

The shooting stage is also the strength of telephoto cameras. Different from "shooting birds", the difficulty of stage shooting is not to control exposure. In order to set off the atmosphere of the scene, spotlight is often used in stage plays or concerts. At this time, if you continue to use almost average metering, the picture will definitely be dark. At this time, it is necessary to use spot metering or central key metering, and then cooperate with the exposure locking function to achieve accurate exposure.

Many photographers habitually turn on the flash when shooting this subject, which is wrong. Because the output power of the built-in flash of consumer cameras is very limited, the distance of the stage must exceed the effective distance of the flash. Whether automatic flash or forced flash is started, the shooting effect will only be dark. If the lighting environment at the scene is really not ideal enough to ensure the stability of the picture in the hand-held state, then temporary auxiliary supports, such as mineral water bottles and tables, can be used.

In addition, there are several points to pay attention to in stage shooting. The first is white balance. When the color temperature of the scene lights is chaotic, you can try to use the preset white balance mode to give full play to the advantages of digital cameras. Secondly, although improving ISO can indirectly improve the shutter speed, it is not worth the loss to sacrifice the image quality for the sake of photo clarity.

Doing so not only causes serious loss of dark details, but also has obvious graininess. Finally, site selection. Choosing a good stage shooting location is even more important than having a good camera. If it is difficult to ensure the stability of the telephoto end, you can try to get closer and shoot with a medium focus.
