How to shoot a portrait with soft focus effect in photography?

The appearance of modern lens makes the photos lose their softness. The use, artistry and plasticity of a slightly blurred picture need to find ways to restore those things that try to disappear, that is, how to achieve the effect of soft focus. How to shoot? This paper introduces several methods in the small series of lightroom tutorial network, and the general photographer can easily achieve the soft focus effect.

A technical feature of soft-focus lens or soft-focus lens is that it can focus objects softly. Excessive contrast disappears, and the whole image becomes soft, but the overall impression of the image is not reduced at all.

But soft focus may be beautiful or fail, depending on the shape and number of diaphragm blades and the existence of aberration. When the subject is in sharp focus and the focus smoothly transitions to a uniform and blurred background, it is beautiful soft focus. The subject itself is obtained with soft colors, and the background will not distract attention. If the focus error is soft, the effect of "double lines" or background spots will appear.

Soft-focus lens (e.g. Canon EF 135 mm f/

2.8 soft focus) is also convenient for high-speed conversion from normal mode to soft focus mode. This is mainly a portrait lens, but it can be used for macro photography (which requires an extended ring) and shooting landscapes. Using a soft-focus lens is an expensive way to soften an image. It is up to each photographer to decide whether it is necessary to use it.

Second, filters or soft filters can obtain soft images in a relatively simple way, and there are cheap filters specially designed for this purpose. They were divided into two groups. The first one contains a filter and several small lenses placed on the surface of the filter. The luminous flux is distributed, so we get two overlapping images. The effect is the same as when using a soft-focus lens.

The name of the second set of filters is "fog filter"

"。 This is partially or completely frosted glass. Their effects are artistic and difficult to predict, but you can get a very unusual picture that is very close to the outline after using the fog filter to choose the right painting. Different from other soft-focus nozzles, fog filter is rarely used in portrait photography, but it is widely used in landscape photography.

There are many soft filters to choose from, so you can choose the "best" optical and shooting style and get the ideal effect.

Third, self-made equipment can obtain soft coke effect. The simplest fog filter can be obtained by blowing the front lens immediately before shooting to make it slightly foggy. Another well-known technique is to coat a protective or ultraviolet filter with a thin layer of vaseline. If vaseline is only distributed along the edge and the center remains transparent, the edge of the image will become blurred and the center will remain clear. The eruption effect is exactly the same. Just don't paint it on the filter, but paint it on ordinary transparent glass and install it in front of the lens. The purpose of all these operations is to scatter the light beam before it passes through the lens.

For soft-focus scenery, please use nylon black, flesh color and color. A piece of cloth is stretched on the lens and fixed with elastic bands, and you will see spectacular scattered images in the picture. If you remove it with brown nylon, you can get the same brown effect.

4. The easiest choice to get soft focus in the graphic editor is to take a portrait photo with sufficient depth of field and then process it in one of the graphic editors. The image opens and two layers are created on it. Blur the bottom according to Gaussian and make the top translucent. You can use various fuzzy plug-ins to simulate glass defects and masks.
