College of Surveying and Mapping and Geographical Sciences, Liaoning University of Engineering Science, formerly known as the Department of Mine Survey, Fuxin Coal Mine College. It has been more than 60 years since 1950 recruited junior college students and 1958 recruited the first undergraduate students majoring in mine surveying. The College of Surveying and Mapping and Geographical Sciences was established in 2006, with disciplines from small to large and from weak to strong. According to the adjustment of the national professional catalogue, the major of Surveying and Mapping Engineering began to enroll students in 1996, the major of Geographic Information System began to enroll students in 1998, the major of Resources, Environment and Urban and Rural Planning and Management began to enroll students in 2002, and the major of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing began to enroll students in 2008. Now there are four undergraduate majors. Surveying and mapping engineering major is a demonstration major in Liaoning province, a pilot major in comprehensive reform in Liaoning province, and a national first-class major. With the progress of society and the development of science and technology, through the efforts of several generations of Liaoning Technical University, the discipline direction has been continuously condensed, the discipline connotation has been continuously enriched and the strength has been continuously enhanced. It has trained a large number of outstanding talents for China and become the main surveying and mapping science and technology innovation and talent training base in China.
