How much does it cost to dive in the Maldives? Maldives Diving Guide

The Maldives is a great place for honeymooners, but this place is also a tourist attraction. The editor likes places like this, where you can exclude beautiful scenery without filters. I will definitely go to this place. Cost

Air ticket 14,400 (including one night's accommodation in Male) + 3,000 (changed due to our reasons, summer tickets are expensive), MAALIFUSHCOMO Hotel

30,270, various expenses on the island About 2000. Therefore, the total cost is less than 50,000. Experience

1. Really understand the difference between visa on arrival and visa exemption. The Maldives is visa-free, and no visa is required. This time, the previous passport book happened to be used up and expired, so I got a new blank passport. I was a little nervous when I left the country with this smooth passport. Of course, it was a smooth entry and exit. It doesn't cost a penny. Unlike going to Indonesia, you still need to apply for an arrival visa after landing. I don’t remember how much it costs.

2. Choose an island in the Maldives. Everyone has the choice syndrome when choosing an island. However, as long as you have a clear goal and don't make changes every few days, choosing an island is actually not that difficult. Our standards are very unified:

a. Five stars or six stars. The upper ones are too expensive and I can’t afford them, and the lower ones feel sorry for us that it took us so long to raise the money and air tickets

b. You must fly around and feel it, especially after watching documentaries. The aerial scenery is very beautiful. In addition, I always feel that the environment and water quality of islands farther away will be better, but it turns out that this is not the case. Once there, even the water next to the airport is crystal clear.

c. There must be a water house, and the water house must accommodate children under 12 years old. Some very high-end hotels do not accept children in their water rooms.

d. You need to have a half-pack (HB) or full-pack (FB) meal, so you don’t have to worry about it yourself. Finally, I found that if HB was enough, FB would definitely be boring and unappetizing.

e. There must be a better snorkeling site. In fact, for really good diving (whether snorkeling or deep diving), you need to sail out to sea. If you want to save trouble, especially if you have children like us, you should book a hotel with a better snorkeling site.

3.Singapore Airlines. Mega has direct flights from Shanghai to Male (8 to 9 hours), but the Agency recommends Singapore Airlines, which has the lowest probability of delays and cancellations. Since we have all chosen the six-star MAALIFUSH Island, we must

avoid the risks of flights as much as possible. We adopted the Agency's suggestion. It turns out, very true. When leaving Shanghai, countless flights were delayed, including ours, but luckily it was only an hour. Because we had a connecting flight in Singapore, and the connecting flight only took more than an hour, we were very worried that we would be in trouble if we didn't catch the subsequent flight to Male. After we got off the plane, the ground staff gathered us, a group of passengers who were connecting to Male, and led us straight to the next gate. The plane behind us also waited for us for about 20 minutes, and finally everyone caught up. No near misses. I arrived in Male at around 11pm and spent the night in an inn near Male Airport. It's quite clean and has all the basic facilities. The next morning, water was sent for check-in at around 9 a.m., so I was well rested.

4. Snorkeling. A piece of advice for everyone, long sleeves and long pants (at least knee-length shorts) and a wetsuit are very necessary to prevent sunburn. Sunscreen is useful, but it will still cause tanning and damage the marine ecology. I have seen entertainment news saying that Kimura Takuya likes sea sports, but in order to protect the ecological environment, he does not wear sunscreen, so his skin ages very quickly. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but if it’s true, I really admire him. Be sure to check the tide table when snorkeling, as the high and low tide times are different every day. Some very shallow places are not suitable for snorkeling at low tide, as you will be scratched by corals and other things. In some deeper places, if you go snorkeling at low tide, the light will be better and the waves will be smaller, making it suitable for snorkeling and underwater photography. Don't touch the corals when snorkeling. Human body oils will damage the corals and make them easily scratched. In addition, diving shoes are very important. You can stand up in relatively shallow places without stepping on your feet. Whether you have fins or not is not a big problem. You can swim faster with fins. Bring a bottle of water with you for snorkeling if you can. The sea water is too salty and your mouth will get dry easily.

5. Gopro is a good thing, underwater photography is great, and the battery is okay. It’s really a piece of equipment designed for sports.

6. About the rainy season and dry season. The islands are divided into rainy season and dry season. However, local people said that now the two seasons are actually not that obvious. Even after some raindrops in the rainy season, the sun is still strong. On the day we first arrived on the island, the hotel staff said that there had been a heavy rain early in the morning. It was very windy and fast, similar to our typhoon. The weather was actually cloudy that day and the next day, with occasional showers and a bit of wind. However, the temperature is pleasant and the sun is not yet shining. There is always a red flag hanging on the beach, indicating that it is not suitable to go to the sea. For those who like to take pictures, the light is not so perfect, but it is also very charming. In the next few days, the sun was shining brightly. I don’t think the locals knew what PS was because they had no use for it. Every landscape photo is a blockbuster as long as the scene is chosen appropriately. There are still yellow flags hanging on the beach, and locals say there are still some currents. Yellow flags are not a big problem for going to the sea.

It is said that March and April are the hottest months and have high humidity, but they are not the rainy season.

7. Let’s talk about MAALIFUSHCOMO hotel.

a.COMO is a famous international hotel chain. When I travel, I usually choose hotels with local characteristics, especially in Southeast Asia. This time when I went to the Maldives, I chose a relatively conservative and well-known international chain hotel because I also wanted to be guaranteed in terms of service. Really did not disappoint. From the moment of waiting for the sea flight to the final flight to leave the Maldives, COMO showed consistent professionalism. There are a variety of soft drinks and snacks in the water flight terminal.

b. When choosing a flight, you must remember that you can stay on the island for one more minute. We arrived on the island at noon and checked in directly. The flight leaving the Maldives was around 11pm, COMO asked us to check out at 3:30pm, and we left the island around 4pm. COMO Hotel will arrange the time to leave the island according to your flight, which is very user-friendly. We played until 3pm before starting to unpack. We arrived in Male at around 5 o'clock, and stayed online and ate in the COMO Flying Lounge until around 8 o'clock, when COMO took us to the airport to prepare to leave the Maldives.

c. Our package is HB (half package), which includes breakfast and dinner. This is really enough. Basically, I have breakfast at around 10 o'clock every day, take a rest

and then go to exercise, diving, boating, taking photos, cycling, etc. Dinner starts at 7 o'clock in the evening, almost nine o'clock Finished eating. You may feel a little hungry in the afternoon on the first or two days, but in the following days, you will definitely feel full every day. There is enough water in the room, not only pure water but also sparkling water. There is also a coffee machine, milk, cookies and welcome fruit. Breakfast has a buffet part (bread, drinks, cold meats and vegetables, and fruits), and an order part (porridge, omelets, English breakfast, etc.). We can order up to 5 portions for two adults and one child, but we basically order 3 to 4 portions, otherwise it would be a waste if we can't eat it. To be honest, just eating the buffet portion is enough to fill you up. Dinner also comes with a menu, an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. Children can choose from the children's manu. However, no matter what, I still miss Chinese food very much after eating it for four days. There are special offers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The day we went there on Wednesday was an Indonesian special small plate platter, and on Friday it was a seafood BBQ. Seafood BBQ requires an additional fee. If it is HB, an additional fee of US$55 per person is required. Including lobster, scallops, prawns, sea fish and other buffets. There is also a Japanese restaurant in the hotel, but reservations are required. We forgot, but when we remembered it was our last night, the same day we booked, we were told it was fully booked. Keep it in mind and come back next time. It is said that the middle of a Japanese restaurant is hollow, and the waiters will throw some of the leftover ingredients into the sea to attract fish to come and look for food, so that diners can enjoy the fish while dining.

d. All non-powered activities in the hotel are free, such as snorkeling (masks, respirators and flippers can be rented), Kayak, paddle boards, etc. We did not participate in some other paid activities, such as sea fishing, dolphin watching, etc. One of them is not a fan of these things, and the other two men are a bit seasick. Yoga classes start at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and the teacher is an Indian. He is very energetic and his voice is like a bell. It is closed on Fridays. You can attend classes on other days, but reservations are required, but classes are usually not full, so you can just go directly.

e. It would be convenient to have a bicycle on the island, and it is not far to walk on foot. When you are waiting for your flight, you will be asked if you want to reserve a bicycle. Little episodes

One was on the last day, when I was about to leave the island, I was extremely happy and sad. I accidentally had a tiny wooden thorn stuck in the sole of my foot. It's really small. I couldn't squeeze it out even if I squeezed it for a long time. Walking is actually not very painful. But I don’t know what’s going on in my mind. I always feel like there’s something under my feet, and I feel uncomfortable no matter what. When checking out, ask the front desk to ask the doctor from the infirmary to come and take a look. In fact, I think if you give me a piece of rubber glue or tendon plaster, stick it on and then prick it, then peel it off and you should be able to bring out the wood thorn. This is the earthwork of our house. After a long time, the local doctor in white coat on the island came, looked at the condition of my feet, asked me to wait, and went to get the equipment. When he came out again, he was wearing plastic gloves in a serious manner, as if he was stirring up trouble. He asked me to put my feet up, and then took out something from my pocket. I was stunned on the spot. It turns out he found a big pin. Surgical plastic gloves and pins, this gave me a huge psychological gap. After wiping the "accident site" with alcohol cotton, he reassured me that it was a small matter and there was nothing to worry about. Then he started to use pins to pick out the wood thorns, but failed for a long time. Then he emphasized to me that he would pick out the thorns without seeing any blood. The thorn finally came out, but I didn’t see the “body” of the thorn. Anyway, I didn’t feel any pain anymore. It was considered a "successful operation" and there was another unforgettable thing. We "released" him abroad. Our family rescued a large sea turtle. It is said in the island introduction that sea turtles can be seen on MAALIFUSH Island, but they are relatively rare. We saw small sharks and manta rays during those days, but never a turtle. One day after playing paddleboard, I was almost exhausted and walked back to the water house from the beach.

The little man and I saw a group of fishing nets at the junction of the beach and the sea. They were floating as the sea water rose and receded. We also complained about why there were fishing nets and the hotel didn't clean them. The old man was very curious, so he walked over and took a look, and found that there was a turtle trapped in the net. We gathered around to take a look, and sure enough, the turtle was entangled in the net. We helped him peel off the net layer by layer, but in the end we found that his forelimbs were tightly entangled in the net, which had been wrapped around several times. The net was embedded in his flesh and had to be cut off with a knife. Two men were taking care of the turtle next to it. I ran to the sports center not far away (that is, the kayak and paddle board center) to find the staff. Xiao Hei quickly returned with me with a knife. We carefully turned the turtle over to prevent it from moving, and then used a knife to cut off the netting wire wrapped around it. Xiao Hei said that there were no turtles nursing in their hotel, and fortunately the injuries were not too serious, so they should just release them. So the old and young men let the turtle go. The turtle stayed near us for a while and then slowly left. What a wonderful experience. Specific

1. There are 1,190 islands in the Maldives, of which only 188 are inhabited by Maldivians. About 122 islands have been developed into tourist resorts.

2. The average life span of the Maldivians is 76 years, and 99% of them are literate. Although literate, I have reservations about the numeracy ability of Maldivians

3. About 48% of the population is under 25 years old. This number is quite surprising to me. The average life expectancy is 76 years old. How come half of the people are younger than 25 years old? I can only say that the new generation has more children.

4. Tourism revenue accounts for 30% of the overall GDP. This is really amazing!

5. Three out of every 17 cabinet members are women, and women in parliament That's 5 women out of about 85 people. You see, the status of women in the Maldives is quite high.

6.

The most important point is also one of the reasons why we went to the Maldives. The land area of ??the entire Maldives country only accounts for 1% of the land area, and the rest is water. The highest point in the entire country is only 2.4 meters above sea level, which is three meters high. Therefore, it is not unreasonable to speculate that the Maldives will disappear in 50 years. Travel early.
