PS two-step rapid design of beautiful color halftone style

From photographers to designers, in many cases, in addition to regular retouching, it is inevitable to try to make some stylized works and design self-portrait photos into different contents. In the face of this small demand, PS has long thought about it for us. Stylization, pixelation and filter library under the filter menu are all artifacts to help us realize special effects quickly. This article simply talks about "color halftone" without talking about anything else.

Before it's too late, first of all, let's look at some works with halftone effect, as shown below:

Sensually speaking, this style is to redraw the pixels of the original image into a circle (red, green and blue spheres overlap), which looks like layers of small balls covering the original image. Its correct operation is also quite simple. Although there are many great gods on the Internet who share one-click action preset, it can also be done in two simple steps with the "color halftone" filter that comes with ps. This filter is located in the "Pixel" filter group in the filter menu, which is very easy to find, as shown in the figure below:

Click on the color halftone at the position of red circle 3 as shown above, and the filter can be started. Its panel is shown below, with few parameters. The "maximum radius" is easy to understand, that is, adjusting the size of the halftone circle. The four channels of screen angle are used for black-and-white photos, color photos and CMYK color mode photos. At present, the biggest regret of "color halftone" is that it can't achieve preview effect. Just adjust the parameters and click OK. Once you find it inappropriate and don't like the result, you need to go back and readjust. ╮ (╯ ▽ ╰) This is a helpless step.

Click OK in the filter panel to get the following rendering:

In addition to using the color halftone filter directly, we can go further, copy the layer, apply the color halftone filter to the second layer, and then make new effects by adjusting the layer blending mode, as shown in the following figure:

Well, the use of "color halftone" is so simple, convenient, practical and easy to use. Friends who like PS will not realize that there is any good way to make halftone renderings. Let's brainstorm. Finally, take a look at the original case and feel the charm of color halftone through comparison.
