Faxi Temple is the largest temple among the three temples in Tianzhu. The founding of the temple originated from a legend. According to legend, at that time, a monk named Dao Sa lived in a hut at the foot of Baiyun Peak in Tianzhu Mountain. One night, he looked at the mountain stream in the distance and found "firelight and candlelight" shining brightly. So I got curious and went to check, and found a piece of strange wood with a delicate fragrance.

Later, Master Daosa took the strange wood back and asked a famous craftsman to carve it into a statue of Guanyin and worship it devoutly. By 947 AD, King Hongchu of Wuyue often met a man in white in his dreams and begged him to build a residence for him. Therefore, Hongchu ordered people to open a road and build a foundation in Shangtianzhu, and built the "Tianzhu Guanyin Kansutra Temple", which was the original Shangtianzhu Temple.
