Why does the Queen of England give a Christmas speech at Windsor Castle every year?
Windsor Castle, located in Windsor-Maidenhead, Berkshire, southeast England, is the family castle of the Royal Windsor Dynasty in Britain and the largest inhabited castle in the world.
The current Queen Elizabeth II spends a considerable amount of time in Windsor Castle every year for national or private entertainment. Her other two mansions are private residences of the royal family.
On the high mountain in the center of Windsor Castle, stands a round tower built in12nd century, which is an ancient gun base, and now there are ancient guns on the wall. There is also a big round table in the castle. It is said that in the 5th century, King Arthur and his knights of the 12 Round Table once sat here for a meeting. At ordinary times, Windsor Castle is all open to the public. Whenever the queen comes, only the largest palace on the top of the mountain is left for her, and the rest are still allowed to visit.
In the area around Windsor Castle, there is a garden called Family Park, which includes an open public place and two farms and villas. Frogmore's estate is also located in the park, and his residence and garden will be open on certain days of the year (the family park is still private).
The upper area mainly includes 13 Century Stadium, Waterloo Hall, St. George's Hall and Queen's Ballroom. On the other side is Queen Mary's Dollhouse.
The most obvious sign of the central area is the round tower around the rose garden. Before 1660, the round tower was a prison for political opponents of the royal family, and now it is mainly used to preserve royal documents and photography collections.
The lower floor mainly includes St. George's Chapel, Albert Memorial Chapel and other buildings. To the south of Windsor Castle is another famous scenic spot here-Windsor Park. There is a south-facing tree-lined garden connected to the famous Ascot Racecourse (ASCOT), where the Royal Four-Day Jockey Club is held every year.
Although the winter in England is unbearable, it is also a good choice to visit the royal castle and receive Christmas greetings from the royal family.
