Wu Xiansheng (1954-) is from Ningguo. Dean of Adult Branch of China Academy of Fine Arts, Professor of Chinese Painting Department, famous young and middle-aged painter. From primary school to middle school, Wu Xiansheng showed his talent for painting. After graduating from high school, I went to the countryside, but I still insisted on painting, learned from my teacher and devoted myself to oil painting. 1975 entered Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, 1978 graduated from university. Because of his excellent performance, he was kept in school to work. When Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts enrolled the first graduate students after the Cultural Revolution, Wu Xiansheng was lucky enough to enter the graduate class of figure painting of famous China painters Fang Zengxian, Shu Chuanxi and Gu Shengyue for further study. Under the careful guidance of his tutor, he was hungry and devoted himself to creation. He mastered the painting theory and creative skills seriously and won the praise of his tutor. The work "Thinking" was selected by the Chinese Painting Association to be exhibited in Japan. After graduation, Professor Fang Zengxian left him and became his teaching assistant. Since then, Wu Xiansheng has been devoted to the teaching and creation of China ink figure painting, and has made remarkable achievements.

Since Wu Xiansheng became the teaching assistant of Professor Fang Zengxian, he has devoted himself to the teaching of the basic course of figure painting and the discussion and research of human body art in China, and his achievements have caused great influence in the national art world. In his teaching and creative practice, Wu Xiansheng has always advocated borrowing the past to create the present, and integrating Chinese and Western cultures. On the one hand, he learned and inherited the essence of China's figure painting and absorbed nutrition from traditional art, but he was not satisfied with China's traditional painting techniques; On the other hand, he absorbed western sketching methods and modern painting techniques, and integrated them for my use. 1986, the state education commission held an education seminar, and Wu Xiansheng's teaching and research achievements were affirmed by the participating experts, and promoted in the teaching of national art colleges.

He not only worked hard in practice, but also constantly summed up experience. Since 1987, Shandong Fine Arts Publishing House and Anhui Fine Arts Publishing House published his picture books "Body Sketch" and "Selected Ink and Wash Figures in Wu Xiansheng", he has published more than 10 books on China's body sketch and ink and wash figure painting. Taiwan Province Art Book Company and asia art center published five of his paintings, and Korean and Japanese also published his paintings and works. He has published dozens of teaching papers, participated in more than ten exhibitions at home and abroad, and won many awards. The theoretical work "A New Theory of Sketch Teaching" published by Anhui Fine Arts Publishing House 1993 can be said to be a summary of the basic teaching of plastic arts and the research of human body art in Wu Xiansheng, which is of pioneering and leading value. 1993 won the second prize for young teachers of Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation of the State Education Commission.

Due to outstanding achievements, Wu Xiansheng, who was only 38 years old, was promoted to associate professor on 1992.

Wu Xiansheng is a China painter who grew up in the great integration of Chinese and Western cultures. He has rich knowledge of Chinese painting and is being nourished by western painting. While paying attention to the sketch of human body, he boldly combined the lines of China traditional art, the beauty of Mo Yun and the colors of western painting into the shaping of the body, and organically combined realism, freehand brushwork and image expression, creating a new artistic realm of ink figure painting, which has pioneering value in the art of figure painting in China.

His five paintings, such as Female Body Sketch, Body Line Sketch, Head Sketch, Ink and Wash Body Painting and Wu Xiansheng Ink and Wash Body Painting Collection, were published in Taiwan Province Province in 1990, which had great influence on the art world in Taiwan Province Province. Some critics said: "Mr. Wu Xiansheng's attempt to sketch with human body ink has opened up the possibility of human body painting creation and enriched the creation of traditional ink painting. Therefore, Mr. Wu's creation is of great significance both in terms of creative level and educational significance. "

Xiao Feng, president of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, introduced Wu Xiansheng's ink figure painting with the title of "All-Inclusive, Carrying Forward the Past" in the magazine of Art Noble in Taiwan Province Province. He believes that "Wu Xiansheng's body sketch contains obvious national spirit and China style." The reason is due to Wu Xiansheng's research on Chinese painting, because he himself is a practitioner of figure painting in China, and he has integrated many excellent essences of Chinese painting into sketch practice, forming his own artistic characteristics. "Big and energetic, delicate and full of passion, bold choice, concise and rich language, free use of lines, both depth and strength, both in expressing objects, expressing feelings, forming the rhythm of the picture, etc., have reached a certain height."

Wu Xiansheng's ink figure painting was reprinted in Taiwan Province, and his book "Techniques of Ink Figure Painting" had a repercussions in Southeast Asia. Japanese and Korean are competing to publish it ... Wu Xiansheng's name has also been selected in the Who's Who of Modern Painting and Calligraphy in China and the Dictionary of Modern Painters and Calligraphy in China.

From 65438 to 0992, he visited France and Europe at the invitation of Paris painting circle and held a solo exhibition in Paris Art City, which won unanimous praise from artists in Paris painting circle. Ms. Bruno, President of Paris International Art City, repeatedly praised: "This is the best China art work exhibited by Art City in recent years." The European Times and Dragon Newspaper made a special introduction. Then hold an exhibition at Francois Gallery in France. 1993 and 1994 held solo exhibitions in their galleries for two consecutive years at the invitation of le havre. Wu Xiansheng is frequently invited to hold solo exhibitions abroad, which is relatively rare in China, so it is no wonder that he is called by art critics: "Wu Xiansheng is a leader in the field of ink figure painting."

He is not only unique in China's ink figure painting, but also has his own personality in landscape painting creation: he not only inherits traditional techniques but also uses modern means, splashing ink and coloring complement each other, which is magnificent without losing the essence, full of charm and watertight, and plays various forms in the ink group.

Wu Xiansheng is now the director of the Adult Department and a graduate tutor. He still hasn't put down his brush. He insists on painting several pictures every day, writing articles and books. Wu Xiansheng tirelessly pursues "making China ink figure painting a bright star in the world painting art sky"
