It can be seen that the more books there are at home, the more books children will read. If there are only 50 books in my family, children can't read too many. ③ Set an example.
Children's habits and behaviors are cloned versions of parents' habits and behaviors. No amount of preaching is as powerful as an example. One or both parents have reading habits. With a little guidance, children will probably inherit their parents' reading habits. How to choose books for parent-child reading
① Choose books for 0- 1 year-old baby.
There is a general order to choose reading materials for newborn babies, although it is not absolute, but according to this order, novice parents don't have to rack their brains any more. This order is black and white cards → torn paper books (cloth books) → simple large-screen color picture books.
Black and white cards can exercise your baby's eyesight. Besides using black and white cards, you can also use black and white literacy cards. Chinese characters such as "one", "two", "water", "big", "middle" and "people" can be used as black and white cards for babies to read. It can not only enrich the graphic content, but also enlighten the literacy. Babies can read when they can't talk, and these experiences will be remembered when they are "connected" in the future. Bai Juyi began to study in six months, which promoted his wisdom. So you can boldly show the baby the black and white card, and everything will be fine if the baby feels happy.
② Choose books for 1-2 year old babies.
If the baby hasn't seen the black-and-white card before 1 year old, there is no need to "make up lessons". School-age books can stimulate children's interest in reading. 1-2-year-old baby's reading materials can be children's songs pictorial, big-screen picture books, and ancient poetry reading literacy cards. Explain that showing the literacy card to the baby is not for literacy, but for enriching reading materials and liking Chinese characters in the future. Children's songs and ancient poems are catchy, and most babies like to listen to their parents. Choose an award-winning classic picture book. Spend the same time, it is better to choose books with intelligent content. ③ Choose books for 2-3 year-old babies.
Mainly in Chinese and English picture books, plus some reading of Tang poetry and Song poetry. If parents can't read English picture books, they should only read Chinese. There is no need to pursue perfection. 2-3-year-old baby's picture book is best to choose the award-winning classic picture book. ④ Choose books suitable for children aged 3-6.
At this stage, children have many ideas and are already familiar with various electronic products, occupying a lot of time in their lives. When choosing books for children who have not developed the habit of parent-child reading at this stage, we should not only consider whether they are classic books that have won prizes, but also vote for their own interests. The bigger the child, the better. For example, the baby likes dinosaurs these days, so buying picture books related to dinosaurs can stimulate children's interest in reading. If children like to play video games and buy a set of introduction books, they may read them dozens of times. Children with fixed reading habits, it is best not to buy introductory books, otherwise they will be more interested in games. Decide according to the specific situation of your family.
It is worth noting that children who have not developed reading habits in kindergartens should choose books, and do not use "learning" books to start parent-child reading, such as learning literacy, pinyin, mathematics or preaching good habits. Children can certainly read such books if they like. If children are disgusted, try not to use such books and develop reading habits. Parents can rest assured that starting from their hobbies, after several years of habit formation, they will naturally read classic and nutritious books, and readers will eventually read in-depth and nutritious books. Is parent-child reading "speaking" or "reading"
"Speaking" means not speaking in written language, but being spoken or translated by parents in vernacular. For example, I am afraid that young children will not understand "indecision" and say "I can't make a decision for a long time", which means.
"Reading" means reading the book word for word.
There is no standard answer to "speaking" and "reading". Let me talk about my own views and experiences for your reference. I've always thought reading is better. From the time my child was eight months old, until now he's almost six years old, I read every word from the book. Why is this happening? I think it can increase children's vocabulary, and it won't make any difference to read it several times. Moreover, it is easier to read it from the book, as long as parents will read it, but not everyone can say the benefits. Reading is very tiring, so you need to use your brain. I'm not lazy but unwilling to use my brain, but parent-child reading takes many years. The workload is huge. I want to read to my children for at least 3 years, maybe 6-8 years at most, or even longer. I had to find a simple and sustainable way to read to my parents and children, so I chose to read to my children instead of reading.
Another advantage of following the script is that it will not be "out of tune". Many books have metaphors, which are not very good in vernacular. Reading in written language, children and adults understand that nonsense is unnecessary. In short, it is best to read it in written language.

What time do you study with your children every day?
The answer is anytime. If we have to compare, it is best that parents have time and children are interested. My observation is that the baby is the quietest lying on the dining chair, bed and toilet.

"Feeding older children with storybooks" counts the actual time parents spend reading for their children. The real situation may be less than that in books, which means that most parents spend less than half an hour reading for their children every day. If the parent-child reading time can be extended to half an hour, more than 80% of parents will read. The author himself spends more than 2 hours reading to his children every day (preschool).

My own experience is that it is ok for a baby to read a picture book 15 minutes, and it is often not enough for a child over 4 years old to read a picture book 15 minutes, preferably more than 20 minutes, with no upper limit at most. My family's Dabao spends an average of 1.5-2 hours a day on parent-child reading before he is 3 years old, and about 1 hour a day on parent-child reading when he is 3-6 years old. You can set the time according to your own situation, and 20 minutes or more is better.

How to easily adhere to parent-child reading?
As long as parents deeply realize the importance of reading, it is easier for them to stick to it.
