What's the difference between an inkjet printer and a laser printer?

The differences between inkjet printers and laser printers are as follows:

1. Price:

Compared with laser printers, inkjet printers are cheaper, and economical printing is even higher than that in 300 yuan, which can meet the buyers who realize printing function and have very limited budget. But the price of laser printers is generally more expensive, even the entry-level products should be around 900 yuan.

2. Print clarity:

The clarity of inkjet printer is its absolute advantage. Generally, the printing resolution of a laser printer is at most 1200dpi, and the patterns printed by it have serious dot matrix characteristics. Even a color laser printer, its image printing quality determines that it can not produce high-quality photos, and can only be used to print ordinary graphic documents. In this regard, inkjet printers are very advantageous.

3. Suitable paper:

There are many kinds of paper that inkjet printers can use, such as ordinary printing paper, envelopes, special paper for photos, CD cover paper and so on. In contrast, laser printers can only be used for ordinary paper, because their printing consumables are laser toner. Due to the low adhesion of the paper itself, the toner will fall off after printing, which will affect the preservation of printed matter.

4. Consumables:

Ink-jet printer's printing cartridge is not cheap at all, the price of ink cartridge may even be higher than the printer itself, and the efficiency of ink cartridge is very low. Generally, the theoretical number of printed pages (5% coverage of A4 paper) is only 200-300 pages. Although the price of a laser printer's toner cartridge is slightly higher, the number of printed pages is several times that of an inkjet printer, and the theoretical number of printed pages is generally around 2000.

5. Printing speed:

Inkjet printers print one line at a time, while laser printers output a whole page at a time. The printing principle is completely different. Under the same quality, the speed of laser printer is definitely the winner. Although you can set the inkjet printer to the fastest printing mode to get the speed close to that of the laser printer, the price is that your printing quality will drop to the worst grade.
