Differences and uses of several microscopes

Microscopes can be roughly divided into the following categories.

1. Optical microscope (illumination imaging) and electron microscope (electron beam imaging): The magnification of optical microscope is below 2000 times, and that of electron microscope can reach several thousand, tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands times.

2. Optical microscopes are divided into biological microscope, stereomicroscope, polarizing microscope, fluorescence microscope and metallographic microscope.

Biological microscope is our most common and commonly used, and it has a wide range of applications, such as teaching and medical treatment.

Stereomicroscope, also known as stereoscopic mirror and dissecting mirror, is mainly used for cultural relics identification, criminal investigation and industrial manufacturing.

Polarizing microscope is mainly used in minerals, electronics and so on.

Fluorescence microscope is mainly used in medicine.

Metallographic microscope is mainly used in metallurgy, manufacturing and other fields.
