Shuozhou great wall photography

The northern part of Shanxi is a mountainous area, and many Great Walls are located in the mountainous area. The most famous section of the Great Wall in Shanxi is Yanmenguan. Yanmenguan is one of the most famous Guancheng of the Great Wall, and now it is also one of the most famous tourist attractions in Shanxi Province. But not far from Yanmenguan, there is also a section of the Great Wall, but few people know about it.

This section of the Great Wall is called Baicaokou Great Wall, which is located at the junction of Xinzhou City where Yanmenguan is located and Shuozhou City next to it. However, due to the remote location of the Baicaokou Great Wall, there are almost no tourists here, and the Great Wall retains its original ecological style.

I know the Baicaokou Great Wall because I watched the CCTV documentary Aerial Photography of China. This section of the Great Wall was built in the Ming Dynasty, in the thirty-third year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1605). From the face value, Baicaokou Great Wall is one of the most beautiful Ming Great Walls in Shanxi and one of the few brick-wrapped Great Walls in Shanxi.

Because of the inconvenient transportation, the Great Wall here is almost undamaged and well preserved. The Great Wall is built on the mountain, winding and undulating in the mountains. At the foot of the mountain, there is a village called Baicaokou. This section of the Great Wall is about 6 kilometers from Yanmenguan to Xinguang Wucheng, retaining ancient buildings such as city walls and enemy towers.

The soil inside the brick outside the Baicaokou Great Wall is 810m high and 4m wide. There are garrisons and watchtowers above, and secret doors below. At present, the watchtowers in good condition are "Needle" and "Xiongdi". Upstairs, there is a plaque with the inscription: "Wanli Bingwu Mid-Autumn Festival is auspicious day, Governor Li Jingyuan, soldier deputy Li Maochun, left general Chen Tianjue, grain manager Pu Xilun".

This section of the Great Wall, called Lingling in history, is the gateway to defend the Central Plains. Nowadays, times have changed. There is already a highway at the foot of the Great Wall, and you can see the rolling Great Wall from the car.
