Where is Anhai?

Anhai is one of the four famous towns in Fujian, located in the south of Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, across the sea from Jinmen Island. Anhai was called Anping and Shijing in ancient times. Since ancient times, its style of writing has enjoyed a long reputation, and cultural relics are the best. The existing land area is 67 square kilometers, governing 4/kloc-0 administrative villages and 5 neighborhood committees, with a population of 12 1 10,000. Anhai Town has a long history; 1 130 has a history of nearly 874 years, and it is an ancient cultural town and an important business town in southern Fujian. Because Zhu Song, Zhu and Zhu left deep footprints here, they were called "Erzhu" and "Zhu". Anping Bridge, Shijing Academy, Longshan Temple, Shui Xin Pavilion, White Pagoda, Star Pagoda and Zhong Yi Ancient Temple are all telling the glory of Anhai history.

Anhai was called "Bay Sea" in ancient times because the harbor of Anhai is curved. The word "Bay" was changed to "An" in the early Song Dynasty, "Anping Town" in the Ming Dynasty and "Anhai" in the Qing Dynasty. Historically, Gulf Port has formed a distinctive region with its deep-water port, developed traffic, rich products and good businessmen.

As early as the Tang Dynasty, Anhai was an overseas traffic fortress, and it developed into the most important sub-port of Quanzhou Port in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. In the fourth year of Jianyan in the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 130), Anhai was formally established, and Zhu Song, the father of Neo-Confucianism master Zhu, was the first town official. A long history has left many precious cultural relics and historic sites for Anhai.
