On August 3, 2020, the National Good Lecturer Competition persisted in the preliminary round of the planet. I successfully advanced, which was expected and unexpected. It was unexpected because I had gone through hundreds of training sessions, but as the competition approached, I was still nervous because of the desire to succeed and the fear of failure.
Looking back on everything from preparation to successful promotion, everything is still as clear as yesterday. If it’s not recorded, it doesn’t happen. I compiled it and hope that everyone who sees it will benefit from it.
First, understand the competition requirements. The lecture time is 10 minutes, with or without PPT. At the same time, I understand that the content evaluation of regular lecturers is inconsistent with ordinary sharing. There are specific requirements, but what are the requirements?
The theme was decided early on, and it is an English picture book for parent-child reading. However, the usual one-hour lecture was condensed into 10 minutes, and I had no clue at first. The only thing that is clear is that these 10 minutes must be given value. So I’m going to tell you how to read English picture books immediately. The competition has specific requirements for the structure of the 10-minute lecture. But how does 10 minutes of content meet the requirements?
After asking Brother Nan for advice, I discovered that the treasure boy was beside me, and my husband was the company’s TTT gold medal lecturer. Reinforcements were immediately mobilized. During the nearly 80-minute call, from the initial discussion of the title, to the sorting out of teaching objectives, to the specific arrangement of the content, we discovered the logical stuck points of the content and refined the model. Especially regarding the setting of teaching goals, every word was carefully considered and deliberated for a long time. Although I was angry several times, I also discovered my husband’s professionalism and meticulous logical thinking as a TTT gold medal lecturer.
My husband said that TTT lecturers set only three teaching goals, WHAT/HOW/attitude change. At the beginning, I planned to set the teaching goal as HOW category to teach parents English picture book skills. My husband said, your role is a trainer and you need to participate in competitions. So the structure must meet the requirements of the competition, not to achieve your training goals. From role to goal, reset.
After reversing roles, discuss the teaching objectives. My husband and I discussed the word "learn" in the teaching objectives over and over again, and finally understood the teaching aids and implementation constraints. The teaching objectives were adjusted from "Learning" the 4-step creative interpretation of English picture books to the attitude goal of "Speaking" the creative interpretation of English picture books. 4 steps. I can only be impressed by the rigorous evaluation criteria of "Xue Xue Er Zi". After clarifying the teaching objectives and logic, I finally figured out the competition content, logic and goal requirements of the competition. The content of the competition is also very clear in my mind.
Second, make PPT. Good interpretation requires good PPT. The time has already pointed to 12:00, so I decided to get up and do PPT on the second day. 5:20 alarm clock, I have woken up and started preparing for the PPT. It lasted nearly 3 hours, starting from 2 teaching goal settings, allowing parents to recognize 4 to important types of English picture books, and allowing parents to express creative interpretations of English picture books 4 Footwork, material organization, logic, comparison of old and new methods, examples, and learning effect evaluation. Thanks to the nearly 80 minutes of discussion, the ideas are very clear, but the material is indeed time-consuming. When I looked up, it was already past 8 o'clock when I asked the two girls to get up for dinner. I still feel that the PPT needs to be revised.
Third, it was finally time for the competition. The considerate Damin had already received the competition numbers for me and Lingli. I was number 15 and Lingli was number 22. The moment I saw the number, my heartbeat started to accelerate. The invisible fear and nervousness about the stage gathered in my heart. The time has changed from 10 minutes to 5 minutes, the use of PPT has expired, and the number is very high. Every little thing became a reason for me to worry and be nervous. I began to take a deep breath, focusing on recording the strengths and lessons learned from each lecturer who took the stage. I began to look around and found Cuicui in the front row with her children participating in the competition. The design topic was introduced into the structure and content organization, and I became more and more clear and confident.
Fourth, it’s time to go on the court. I changed into smart shoes, put on a smart jacket, and was still a little nervous, but everything was just right. Standing firmly on the stage, I found the feeling of being on stage that scares me but also makes me obsessed. At this moment, I told myself that I had won. I am already my own king. Fifth, review.
