Beginners turn to the new photographer Chun, and now there are some problems in shooting oil paintings.

One of the most frequently asked questions by photographers is: How do you know which lenses and equipment are enough for your camera? At this time, the big principle that needs to be clear is: when matching lenses, there must be a clear purpose. Some movie friends are actually not clear about this purpose, and often "buy for the sake of buying".

Before being familiar with the existing equipment and figuring out what kind of photography you like and what kind of photography style you pursue, you want to blindly "match the full focal length" and "get it in one step"-this kind of psychology is more common among novices, which makes it easier to take detours and bring unnecessary economic losses. For most people, it is impossible and unnecessary to buy all the lenses of a brand. The idea of lens configuration should follow the following "three basic principles".

These three ideas must be clear in advance and indispensable, otherwise it will lead to blind consumption.

1, define what kind of photography is the main content of shooting:

Photography covers a wide range of categories, such as landscape photography, portrait photography, social documentary photography, sports competitions and wildlife photography, macro sketch photography and so on. In addition, there are tourism photography, commemorative photography, conference photography and so on. These different types of photography often require different lens equipment, even far apart. For example, 28-35mm wide-angle lens and 80-200mm telephoto lens commonly used in landscape photography. The most commonly used portrait lenses are 85mm, 135mm,180mm; Sports and wildlife photography need a super telephoto lens of more than 300mm; Macro photography is best to use a special macro lens, flash and tripod; When shooting social news, tripod is not as important as landscape photography.

We can't dabble in everything, we must have our own special hobbies and specialties. In other words, you only need lenses suitable for your shooting category, and buying more is a waste. So the first principle determines the lens specifications you need.

2, when using photos, the picture quality level requirements:

The use of photos is also very important, because the purpose of use determines the level of lens you need.

General souvenir photos, because there is no high quality requirements, the size of the photos produced is mostly below 16 inch. Consider buying a lens with a wide focal length coverage, such as 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. The imaging quality of this lens can meet the requirements of film production, and it can also save money, reduce the number of lens changes, and avoid dust entering the fuselage caused by frequent lens changes.

If you are engaged in artistic creation, the requirements for image quality are relatively high, and the size of the photos you make needs to be more than 24 inches. You should consider configuring a professional lens with a focal length range of no more than 3 times and a constant aperture, or an advanced home lens. Only in this way can the quality of the film be guaranteed.

When using photos in commercial advertisements, the production size is often calculated in meters. At this time, the requirements for image quality and resolution are the highest, and the top professional zoom lens or professional fixed-focus lens must be used, otherwise it is difficult to enlarge the photo to more than 2 meters. For demanding occasions, even medium and large format cameras must be used to complete shooting, so the second principle determines the level of the lens you buy.

3, personal economic ability:

The third point is obvious. When the first two points are clear, the final decisive factor is whether the money is enough, and we must "do what we can". In other words, it depends not only on whether you have enough money now, but also on whether you spend it well. -Is the value paid commensurate with future achievements (or "satisfaction")? There is no standard answer to this question, which is completely subjective. Of course, it's best to consider the psychological bottom line that your family can accept.

Only by clarifying the above three basic principles can you have a clearer purchase goal.

According to many years' experience, novices have five kinds of misleading thinking when choosing equipment.

1. "I want to do it in one step"

Sounds reasonable, but think about it. What is the concept of "bit"? I'm afraid it's not the top and most expensive equipment, because 99% people can't afford it. Buy the best lens when economic conditions permit. But this "best" is only relative, relative to your wallet, relative to your current aesthetic vision, relative to the current level of technology and so on. , is the best, but also the most "pleasing". However, after a while, your economic situation changed, your aesthetic vision improved, and manufacturers introduced more advanced products. At this time, "one step in place" equipment will become "chicken ribs", and your mentality will become more and more dissatisfied. In the end, you will sell it at a low price and pursue a new "one step at a time" again. Repeated prohibition will not only cause economic losses, but also bring disharmony to the family, which is a very inappropriate mentality and practice.

The correct approach should be "step by step". Before you know the performance of the equipment, before you know what you are good at shooting, before you pursue your goal, you should buy the most basic equipment. After a period of washing and training, your use style is clear, and your equipment has basically developed to a certain level. Next, you will gradually purchase the upgraded equipment with clear purpose.

2. "To cover all focal lengths, there must be no omission."

This is completely unnecessary. No kind of shooting has to use all the focal length lenses. A master once asserted that the 300 mm lens has only two purposes-shooting wild animals and lotus flowers. In the actual experience, there is some truth. If you don't shoot birds and wild camels, there are not many opportunities for lenses with a focal length longer than 200 mm, and the 60- 100 mm lens is not used much when shooting scenery. When taking commemorative photos and official photos, the focal length of 28-80 mm is enough for all use. So this idea is a blind investment because I don't know my own shooting category!

"It is a waste to overlap the focal length range of the lens."

Don't be afraid to repeat the focal length segment. The key is "reasonable repetition". Because the zoom lens has different imaging quality under different focal lengths, even the recognized excellent lens has its advantages and disadvantages. The strong position of this lens may be the weak position of another lens. In this way, by purposefully selecting a part of focal length overlap, we can avoid the congenital deficiency of a lens, so that every commonly used focal length segment has handy equipment support.

For example, for a lens with 28- 135mm, the dominant focal length is in the 35-85mm segment, followed by the 28mm end, and the 135mm segment is often the worst. In other words, its telephoto imaging is its shortcoming. The intensity of the 70-200mm lens is in the range of 70- 135mm, so it is reasonable for the 28- 135mm lens to match the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, and the focal length ranges overlap.

4. "At present, financial resources are limited, so buy some low-grade deputy factory lenses to make do with it."

This idea is the most unacceptable. Because with the increase of aesthetic ability and financial resources, you will soon regret it. At that time, watching a bunch of shots that were not worth a few dollars in the second-hand market would have endless troubles. It is better to concentrate all financial resources and buy only one excellent lens that is currently used the most.

5. "tripods and flashlights are for professionals, but a movie friend like me doesn't need them."

It depends on what kind of photography is carried out. If it is difficult to take pictures of scenery, macro and portraits, a high-quality tripod is also essential. For documentary photography and commemorative photography, it is best to include an excellent flash with 3D fill light in the budget.

In short, the configuration scheme of equipment procurement is ever-changing, but it remains the same-that is, eight words: combining reality and seeking truth from facts.
