What spider spins a web in the water?
water spider: argyroneta aquatica
belongs to the order Argyronetidae. Also known as the silver spider, it is the only rebel of its kind-living in the world of water. When they dive into the water, many bubbles will be attached to the waterproof fluff covered all over the body, as if they had entered a closed cover with an air layer. This peculiar air cover makes the water spider a mercury ball, which is radiant. Occasionally, they will lean out of the water with the end of their abdomen and hold up a big bubble to parade through the city.
Water spiders are good at spinning webs among aquatic plants. As bubbles are stored under the net, the original spider web becomes bell-shaped, like a small caisson, and they camp in the caisson, where the female spider lays eggs and hatches. The bubble group owned by the water spider is not only an oxygen storage device, but also an oxygen generator-it can continuously absorb oxygen from the surrounding water. This is what people call the "physical lung" oxygen supply device. Water spiders gradually reduce the oxygen concentration in bubbles during breathing. Once the oxygen content is lower than 16%, the oxygen dissolved in water will replenish itself into bubbles. Usually, when spiders are at rest, physical lungs are enough to ensure oxygen supply; When the oxygen consumption is too large, the supply of oxygen-containing bubbles in water will be in short supply, and the proportion of other gases in bubbles will rise accordingly until it greatly exceeds the proportion in air. As a result, nitrogen began to diffuse into the water, and the volume of bubbles would decrease accordingly (because the oxygen was exhausted). Finally, the spider had to show up on the water again and refill the oxygen reservoir.
The silver spider is an invertebrate. The way and shape of silver spiders building underwater dwellings are extremely magical. The silver spider spins silk like other spiders, but the tough spider silk it spits out is not used to make a web, but to build a single room-a bell-shaped residence underwater. In order to make this single room more solid and substantial, it used a special way to inflate this bell-shaped residence. The silver spider tries to inject the air bubbles in the middle of its abdominal fine hair into the residence from the water surface, and will supplement them from time to time to ensure that it can survive safely in the underwater residence for a long time. In the waters where duckweed and other aquatic plants grow, silver spiders can always find a satisfactory habitat.
Argyroneta aquatica feeds on small animals such as small fish, tadpoles, insect larvae and leeches in the water.
Water spiders are mainly distributed in palearctic, including Europe and northern Asia, and have been reported in Inner Mongolia, Northeast China, northern Henan, Japan and South Korea. The spider lives in a clean pond with abundant aquatic plants and never dries up in four seasons, and is sensitive to environmental changes. Now, due to land desertification and water pollution, it is difficult for us to find them. There have been documentaries about this kind of spider abroad. In 1989, China Agricultural Film Studio organized manpower and experts to go to Inner Mongolia to take a' photo' of the water spider, but unfortunately, this' photo' did not attract people's attention and I don't know where it is now.
