Beautiful flowers and plants have always been the object that our color friends like to shoot, and we don't need to go far to the suburbs. Our own garden and small corner are places where flowers settle down. Our small dc has the natural advantage of taking flowers, that is, "macro mode", which is usually a switch marked with an upright tulip. This is the best weapon to observe the microscopic world, but if you have a SLR, you need to buy a macro lens.

Plant photography is different from portrait, and it depends on color to express hierarchy and theme. Finding a gorgeous camera will make your photos more attractive. It is recommended that you shoot flowers in positive or bright mode. Nowadays, most DCs have independent plant patterns, and the colors of flowers and leaves are quite rich. I recommend it to you. After all, photography advocates art rather than restoration. In addition, a camera with a reversible lcd or rotating lens will make your framing easier.

Before shooting, we should have a basic understanding of the object to be photographed, although it is not necessary to be a botanist. Every plant has its own personality. If you often walk outside, or carefully observe your flowers, you will find that soil, water, sunlight and even the surrounding insect species can play different roles in their growth. If you find this, you can make your pictures more appealing. Whether it is a well-designed small garden, an overgrown wasteland or other environments, a flower, a leaf or a fruit can be the object of shooting.

It's easy to take pictures of plants, because most of them are static. You can easily take pictures of them when and how, but that doesn't mean it's simple. Just like taking photos of other subjects, you have to consider some things, such as the direction of light and the way of composition. Different angles can get different effects.

Insects also play a very important role in plant photography. For photographers, adding insects to flowers can add a lot of interest to photos. Butterflies, bees, grasshoppers and many other insects will appear in our pictures from time to time. Generally, the life cycle of insects is in early spring, and it reaches its peak in June and July. Stay next to some blooming flowers, and you will find that there are insects all day.

If you want to take a clear picture of insect wings, you must try to keep the camera parallel to insect wings and make full use of the depth of field. Small aperture (below f/8) can always take exquisite photos, and of course you need your patience.

You don't have to use high magnification and large depth of field when shooting. As long as the stamens are clearly highlighted in a slightly blurred background, fascinating photos can be obtained. When shooting flowers, it is best to put the camera obliquely above the flowers, focus carefully and record the most eye-catching points on the flowers clearly.

Successful plant photography often lies in the use of light. Shooting plants should use photometry or bright cloudy weather. The sunset in the morning and half a night is very beneficial to describe the details of the surface of the object, because the light is soft and the shadow is not too stiff.

The dew in the morning will make the plants look more delicate, and the backlight can highlight the fluff on the branches and leaves of the plants and make the flowers look more crystal clear. The sunshine intensity in four seasons is different, so are the colors of flowers and plants. At this time, the exposure determines the color reproduction and contrast. 2/3- 1EV exposure should be added to shoot white flowers. In order to make the flowers clean and bright, it will be reduced by 2 according to the proportion in the picture.

In flower shooting, we often use the method of blurring the background, but if we all use this method or the middle composition, the picture will be lifeless and it will be difficult to take excellent flower photos at will. Only after careful composition can they show their unique qualities. We can observe the viewfinder composition, constantly change the shooting angle and move the camera up and down until we find the right position.

Putting the branches and leaves in the diagonal picture is more dynamic. When shooting a single flower, you should be able to fully show the beautiful geometric structure of the flower. If you need to change the orientation of the subject, you can pull the branches and flowers to fix it. Try to make the picture simple and compact in composition. Sometimes it is much better to shoot only a part of the flower than to show the whole picture directly.

When shooting multiple flowers, let them match each other in reality to form a unified and harmonious picture. Facing the patches of plants, we should integrate them into the landscape environment.

Generally, plants and flowers are photographed with macro lens or telephoto lens, and the depth of field is very shallow, so the choice of aperture is more prominent. Using telephoto lens and large aperture can make flowers stand out from the background, using wide-angle lens and small aperture can make plants in the foreground as clear as distant mountains, and using macro lens can make every flower look lifelike.

Making good use of depth of field is a good creative tool. Using a small aperture can make every piece of fluff on the plant clear. When using a large aperture to achieve a shallow depth of field, you can highlight the most eye-catching place on the screen. Pay special attention to focusing. At close range, the depth of field is very limited. At this time, even if the breeze blows, there may be problems. When you press the shutter, a slight shaking will blur the flowers on the screen.

The shooting of plants is far more than flowers. Leaves, branches and bark can all be good subjects. Not only flowers have beautiful shapes, but also leaves have beautiful geometric patterns. Leaves can see clear vein texture under backlight, and the growth mode, size and shape of leaves of different plants are different, so they can be expressed flexibly when shooting.

Branches can also be painted, and even silhouettes can be used to obtain the effect similar to traditional Chinese painting. If they are dark when shooting, you can use the built-in flash to make up a little light until you can see the details of the branches on the LCD screen. If you want to get their silhouette, you can expose bright places or the sky side by side.

Although sunny mornings and half nights are the best time to shoot, we can also shoot plants in bad weather. Rainy days will make flowers brighter and leaves greener. After a calm rain, water droplets at work can allude to the surrounding scenes ... as long as we are good at discovering, we can also take amazing photos of plants in bad weather.

The diversity of colors is the greatest feature of plants. One of the best shooting methods is to put flowers on a dark background or under a bright blue sky, so that flowers can be matched with objects of other colors, such as bees and green leaves.

The herbaceous buildings on the ground show subtle tones in the backlight. When shooting, it should be noted that the direct sunlight of the lens will cause serious underexposure and glare. When shooting herbs with spikes, backlight can set beautiful bright edges on the edges of spikes. When the contrast between the background and the subject is large, we can highlight the brightness and vividness of the subject by reducing the exposure and pressing the background deeply.
