The cause of disease

The cause of Kaschin-Beck disease is still unknown. Zeng Huai suspected that it was caused by chronic oral poisoning, but it was not confirmed. Most people think it may be related to pathogenic mold in grain. Animal experiment: The pathological changes of the bones of animals raised with cereals containing pathogenic molds are similar to those of Guan Jie's disease. The pathogenic mold may be Fusarium, which has not been completely confirmed.

clinical picture

1. onset of puberty

Due to the early ossification of the epiphyseal plate, the development of the epiphyseal plate was blocked and it was dwarf. Short stature, strong joints, pain and limited movement, ankle joint is the earliest, followed by finger joint, knee joint, elbow joint, wrist joint, toe joint and hip joint. Due to the different fusion speed of epiphyseal plate, knee varus, knee valgus or hip varus often occur in both lower limbs. Fingers are short and thick, feet are flat. The younger the onset age, the more serious the deformity.

2. Late puberty onset

The deformity is not obvious. The main manifestations are osteoarthritis symptoms, joint swelling, a small amount of fluid accumulation, feeling of friction during exercise, accompanied by interlocking symptoms, and sometimes free bodies can be detected in joints. Adults have many lower limb diseases, swollen ankles and knees, and it is very inconvenient to walk.
