Composition and framing skills of beauty portraits

Lead: composition framing has always been an element that I think can best express a person's unique perspective and aesthetic feeling in the image creation of various themes, whether it is portraits, landscapes, cultural records, etc. How to deconstruct the imperfection in front of you, and then construct a perfect image in your frame? My humble opinion is here to share with you.

Learning composition, starting from the "golden ratio"

When I first learned photography, I couldn't help reading many books about the concept of composition. I have been learning the old rules of dichotomy, trisection, tic-tac-toe and spiral composition in the so-called golden ratio rule, and I have found these precise mathematical formulas, which are also the basic concepts of perfect composition.

Composition first

I also read a lot of images, trying to analyze the author's description and depiction of image structure, the relationship between subject and background, and points, lines and surfaces. What kind of feelings does this combination bring to the viewer? How to conduct visual guidance? In the process of such discussion and study, from observing the details of life, the corner of the street and the natural landscape passing by, I seem to re-recognize this wonderful world opened by the photographer's eyes, which is a little bit of beauty that can be seen everywhere in your life and mine.

Harmonious structure

Wonderful structure

How can we make a perfect picture wonderful, beautiful, harmonious, unforgettable and amazing?

Cultivate aesthetic feeling and improve composition skills

In fact, there are not many shortcuts to learning composition well. Of course, it is the best way to accumulate beauty from life. It is a good way to increase the aesthetic feeling of composition by trying to observe the line curves of various objects, the geometric structure of buildings, the proportion of people and scenes in movies, etc. Slowly from the plane to the solid, you will find how the front, middle and back, depth of field and shallowness in the image should be used together, and how the perspective ratio of the subject and background is presented.

Use depth of field

And use the harmony and impact of contrast color to train intuitive composition reaction and cultivate keen observation in the wonderful process of learning and feeling. When the decisive moment mentioned by master Bresson comes, we will have more control to capture that precious and perfect moment. We should be brave enough to try various ideas and give full play to our imagination.

Imagination makes the picture more exciting.

When I take portraits, I usually use a fixed-focus lens, constantly moving my steps and perspectives, in order to get all kinds of interesting visual sweet areas.

When you press the shutter, your composition point should have been decided, not cut, which will destroy the quality of the photo and form the bad habit of cutting it when you get home. My advice to you is to take more different compositions, don't stand in the same place to take pictures, and keep looking for changing horizons.

Multi-angle and multi-composition shooting

I like lying on my stomach, squatting or even lying down, because this unique narrative angle can often bring you the most special and surprising effect. Therefore, don't be stingy with your legs, and bend your body as much as possible to get richer composition elements.

Try different shooting points and outline different working atmosphere.

The predecessors who took the scenery always said: Good scenery is at your feet. In recent years, the popular category of portrait photography has gradually shifted from shooting the beauty of the whole body in sugar water to bringing out the emotional stack of characters with scenery. This combination makes it easier for the atmosphere of the whole image to impress the viewer because of the proper combination of background and subject!

Static scenery+hair blown by the wind

This trend produces amazing works. Even if the characters are removed, this picture will still be beautiful scenery, so the author likes to find some scenic spots that are both novel and have local characteristics, so that the scenery obtained can better match the atmosphere setting of the shooting theme and deepen the emotional side of the work.

Neon lights and firelight interweave into colorful night scenes in the city.

The countryside, fields and natural scenery around you.

As long as you know more about observation and release your infinite imagination, many things are invisible, waiting for you to explore.

Feel the light in the details, fully grasp and use its changes, and slowly, the image will be deeper and create a so-called atmosphere. Go crazy with a camera and an adventurous heart! Blood is absolutely necessary!
