1. Patient position. The patient sits in a dental chair with his head tilted to the affected side and his jaw extended forward. The X-ray center line enters from the opposite mandibular angle and exits from the buccal side of the affected mandible. According to different inspection purposes, the projection angle of this film can be adjusted to some extent. If it is necessary to observe the mandibular body in the canine area (single canine position), the patient's head can be slightly rotated to make the canine area close to the cassette, and the image of the opposite mandibular body will be moved upward and forward, and the X-ray center line will pass through the canine area of the mandibular body. If it is necessary to observe the bone changes before and after the mandibular angle, the patient's mandibular body can be close to the cassette, and the center line of X-ray passes through the affected mandibular body, which is called mandibular position. If it is necessary to observe the condyle, the patient can turn his head and stick the mandibular support on the box. The sagittal plane of the head is parallel to the cassette, and the center line of X-ray passes through the middle of mandibular branch, which is called lateral position of mandibular branch.
