Introduction to Jin Yang's Works

Yangjiagou Village is located in Dongshan, Caochuan Town, which is remote and has inconvenient transportation. Because the primary school teacher was too old to teach, the village head found his nephew Yang Jinsheng, who went to high school in the county.

Yang Jinsheng was born in a poor family, and his father died of AIDS in order to sell blood for him to go to school. Yang Jinsheng became a teacher in the village only by relying on his elderly grandmother.

The town education bureau defaulted on wages, and the village head got back a flower cow. Hua Niu has become the treasure of primary and secondary schools in the village, and children are rare. Yangjin used her milk to sell money to order books and buy newspapers for students. He also wants to save money to repair the school house and buy some desks and chairs for the school.

Yang Jinsheng often takes care of Yang Xiaofeng, a student, and Yang Xiaofeng gradually likes him, often helping the teacher to do laundry and cook. One night it rained heavily, and Yang Jinsheng was crushed under a pile of bricks and wood to save the desks and chairs in the leaky classroom. Yang Xiaofeng pulled the rafters on Yang Jinsheng's leg with a pregnant cow, which died in childbirth.

Yang Xiaofeng went out to work because his father broke his waist in the coal mine. On a rainy night, Yang Jinsheng read Xiaofeng's letter. The next day, the weather was fine. Yang Jinsheng came to the mountain with her grandmother on her back and looked at her father buried on the opposite hillside.

The next winter, I began to make trouble for my mother, playing shotguns, fighting and riding motorcycles. Er Dong's mother Yang sent him to a missionary school. Erdong escaped from there and eloped with a girl named Yang Chang 'e. Erdong realized that life was not easy. Jin Yang, a boy from HI Film Studio, graduated from primary school. He thinks he has grown up and should celebrate. He wrote a letter to his parents, saying that he was going to grandma's house. Actually, I ran to my best friend's house in the mountains in my shorts. From the small town to the mountain village, everything is the first time. They went through a lot of things hand in hand barefoot, saying stupid things and laughing seriously. Nothing big happened, so little things were taken seriously. The river is flowing on the ground and the children are running in the mountains. Some people praise cleverness, others don't, but that doesn't matter. This is the story of friendship, this is the story of that summer. The film is unpretentious, everything is so ordinary, and the story is really told from the perspective of children. Children's innocent words and jumping thinking are both stubborn and amusing, and sometimes generate poetic light. Looking at the world with innocent eyes is full of childlike interest everywhere. The film combines real-life performance and animation to visualize children's memories and imagination.

The film won the 29th Golden Rooster Award for Best Children's Film (nomination).
