About the author of Children's Photography Handbook

Bill Hurter began photography in 1972 in Washington, D.C., as a news photographer and covered news in the political field, including the Watergate hearings. In 1972, Bill Hurter graduated from American University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then studied at Brooks Institute of Photography and completed the training course in 1975. While working at Pertersen's PhotoGraphic magazine, he tried every job except the art director position. He had his own creative agency, photo gallery, and was employed by the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball for about a year. Over the past 30 years, he has witnessed the transformation of photography technology. In 1998, Bill Hurter received a Master of Science degree from the Brooks School of Photography. So far, he has authored more than a dozen instructional books on professional photography, and currently serves as the editor of the American "Rangefinder" magazine.
