The lens problem of Pentax 50-200ED

DA50-200, DAL50-200 and DA50-200WR are still in production.

Among them, DAL50-200 is a plastic bayonet, and the other two are metal.

The lens structures and materials of the three lenses are exactly the same, and there is no difference in imaging in theory.

The difference between them is that:

DAL50-200 doesn't have a range hood, so you need to buy it yourself. Full time manual focusing is not supported.

DA50-200 is equipped with original hood, which supports full-time manual focusing.

DA50-200WR adds splash-proof design to DA50-200, which can be used in bad weather.

My suggestion is that if your fuselage is KM, KX and KR, you can buy the DAL series. DAL is lighter (lightest of all brands in 200 sets). If you use K 10D, K20D, K7 and K5 with splash-proof function, you can buy WR, which can give full play to the waterproof function of WR lens.

Supplement:

If you don't want DAL, recommend DA head. The imaging quality of the two is exactly the same. The difference between WR head and big head is only that waterproof function is added, while waterproof function KX is useless. Because the lens can be waterproof, the fuselage is not waterproof, and the rain will spoil the fuselage, then it will be a big loss!
