April Ili Xinghuagou

In early spring, apricot blossoms in the valley are in full bloom in the cold ravine, welcoming the flowering period of Yili for half a year. With the passage of time, there are wild apricot flowers everywhere, from Hami and Shanshan to Korla and Kuqa to Yining and Kashgar, and there are clouds of apricot flowers everywhere.

In the hometown of Kazak people near Nalati grassland, there is a huge original wild apricot forest in the fourth team of Tulgen Township, Xinyuan, which has become the new favorite of photographers in recent years. Apricot flowers usually bloom around April 20.

It is worth noting that the blooming apricot flowers are not the most beautiful. When they are in bud, the scene where pink flowers and white flowers set each other off is really beautiful. The best time is around 8 pm. An hour and a half after sunrise.

Red flowers in the mountains in May

The blooming of safflower in Tianshan Mountain means the official arrival of warm summer in Tianshan Mountain. From mid-May to early June, as long as the spring rains are falling, from Daxigou Township and Salbulak Town in Huocheng County in the west, to Yuzi Township and Awulia Township in Moluo Tohti in Yining County in the middle, and then to Musi Township in Nilek County and Zeketai Town in xinyuan county in the east, the previously inconspicuous northern slope of Tianshan Mountain is full of Tianshan safflower, which is very beautiful.

Interestingly, it was filmed by filmmakers in the 1960s and was quoted by the masses as "a large number of poppies were planted in Xinjiang". Researchers from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences made a special trip to return samples and found that safflower is indeed a wild relative of poppy, Papaver nigrum, but it does not contain morphine toxin.

June Ili Lavender

After the wild Tianshan safflower season, the contestants in Yili became lavender. If you just pass by, go to Horgos Port or Chaxian County in June, and you can see the lavender fields on the roadside like a blue ocean.

As early as 1964, Xinjiang introduced three lavender varieties from Provence, France for trial planting. For decades, the planting area has not been particularly expanded. With the development of tourism, lavender has become one of the main "ecological products" in Yili.

On the way to Horgos Port, you can go to the grain depot of the 65th regiment, where there is one of the best lavender fields on Qingshui River. But if you just want to take pictures of people, there are also gardens that tourists pay for, such as Princess You Jie Lavender Garden and Princess Han Jia Lavender Garden, which are more suitable.
