Although this year's May Day holiday is still in the epidemic period, the people of China who have been suppressed by the epidemic have already complained bitterly. Many hotels are overcrowded, and many scenic spots need to be booked to enter.

So my son and several "girlfriends" in his kindergarten met with each other on WeChat and traveled in an RV. Ask my son how he knew about the "RV" and answer what he saw last time he went to Yellowstone National Park in the United States. "I've never lived in an RV ..."

Our parents also think it's feasible. After all, the car doesn't have to go to the hotel, which avoids the risk of cross-infection during holiday travel. Besides, children's tourism concept is very weak, so they just need to find a place where no one is in the wild and let them have a good time.

There are many parent-child organizations providing RV go on road trip on the Internet. Some parent-child agencies offer RV tours for two families-anyway, it's strange and crowded for two families to squeeze into one room. So we chose the "one car for one night" scheme provided by another parent-child organization:

Including camp usage fee, camp water and electricity, barbecue grill, charcoal and hot pot, the packaging service fee for each RV is about 1.700 yuan. Renting a car during the May Day holiday is much more expensive than usual. However, for the "one car for one night" scheme, this price should be the cheapest we saw during May Day.

In addition, because a child's father is in the logistics industry, the company strictly stipulates that we can't leave Shanghai during this period, so we can only find a camping place in Shanghai-the conditions of the camp are also one of the reasons why we finally chose this parent-child institution.

The activity camp provided by this parent-child organization is located in the north of Xisha National Wetland Park, which can be said to be the best RV camp in Shanghai. For the current domestic RV tourism projects, the camp conditions can never be ignored.

As we all know, there are two kinds of RV. One is a common unpowered trailer in the United States. In China, towing an unpowered RV requires a special permit. This RV has more space and more complete facilities, with its own diesel AC power generation system. No matter where you camp, there is air conditioning in the house.

Electric RV, such as Datong RV80, has no AC power generation system. If you want to use the RV air conditioner, you must connect 220V AC externally.

If you want to start the vehicle and forcibly use the car air conditioner during camping, there will be a danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. Therefore, for the most common motor home in China, a camp that can provide 220V AC is essential, otherwise it will be really stuffy in the car at night.

After seeing the photos of the relevant camps, several families decided to rent a car from this parent-child organization. In addition, the ingredients and drinks are self-care, and the road and bridge expenses and oil expenses are self-care. There is a refrigerator in the car. You can put the ingredients and drinks in the refrigerator after picking up the car.

According to the parent-child organization, the RV we rent is "automatic", and we can drive it as long as we have a driver's license above C2.

As a result, when I saw the real car, I found that it was not an "automatic gear" at all, but an AMT semi-automatic gearbox without a P gear-but it doesn't matter, because for many ordinary people, anything that doesn't need to step on the clutch when starting is collectively called an "automatic gear". But for me, the combination of AMT+ and diesel engine is also the first experience.

Please don't laugh at this AMT with strong frustration here. After all, people are not "automatic gears". It is a fallacy to compare the experience of AMT with that of automatic transmission.

You should compare the manual transmission with AMT, so that you will feel that AMT is really friendly to many drivers who are afraid of manual transmission!

Of course, having a driver's license and driving are actually two different things-there are many "natives" in China.

This RV80 C RV, modified from V80 version of Datong long axle, is equipped with a 2.5T turbocharged diesel engine, with the maximum power of 100 kw/3800 rpm, matching 6AMT, body size of 5995×2330×3 150mm and wheelbase of 3850mm. Seeing such a tall and long car for the first time, many drivers really feel a lot of pressure.

This activity was originally attended by four families. As a result, the father of one of the children has been struggling whether he can hold such a big car and finally decided to quit.

The other three dads, except one from the logistics industry, once drove a Chase V80, indicating that there was no pressure. Besides, two fathers, including me, has never really driven such a big car.

Although I have tested at least 600 cars, the biggest cars I have tested are Datong G 10 and 9-seat Volkswagen Kailuwei, which is also my first experience for an RV with its own bathroom and living room.

However, the overall experience is still very similar to the driving experience of Datong G 10. There is a camera when reversing. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the height limit warning sign on the road-don't rush if the height limit is less than 3.2 meters.

When picking up the car, the staff said that some guests had driven before, and driving the RV was getting higher and higher. When they were driving it, they forgot the height limit. As a result, when they passed somewhere in bridge opening, they "cut off the roof" ...

The staff admitted that they would tell stories "according to the process" in the face of every guest who went to pick up the car.

All in all, this type C RV is not difficult to drive.

When you pick up a car in Datong RV Park near Disney, you need to pay a deposit of 1 0,000 yuan in advance, and you need to pay an illegal prepayment of 5,000 yuan when you return the car.

The car is very clean, and the bedding is basically the standard of the hotel. There are disposable slippers, so you can take a bath in the car, but there is no toothbrush and toothpaste toiletries, so you need to bring your own. In addition, you need to bring your own mosquito repellent. Although the lawn is good, there are mosquitoes in early May.

After driving out, the first problem I encountered was where to put my carry-on luggage. If you put it on a chair or table in the living room, you can definitely hear the banging behind your head when turning or braking.

This piece of luggage is suggested to be put in the small lockers on both sides of the head. As for suitcases or bulky luggage, it is best to put them on the floor or behind the last row of seats.

In addition, consciously keep enough distance from the car in front. After all, the braking distance required by such a big car is not the same as that of a car.

The car is equipped with long enough connecting wires and water pipes. After arriving at the camp, the first task is to connect 220V AC. There are only three parking spaces in the camp with exclusive electric piles and washing pools, and we happen to have three cars.

As I said before, there is a temporary withdrawal. If four cars come, one car needs an adapter to connect to AC.

After connecting the power, you can turn on the air conditioner with the air conditioner remote control when you see the "mains" green light on the control switch above the side door-just like at home.

However, an episode happened that day, that is, after a car was turned on outside the camp, the "mains" green indicator light of the control switch never lit, indicating that there was no air conditioner in the car. The temperature broke 30℃ that day, and the driver of this car was my father who worked in the logistics industry. He said that the life of his whole family was given by air conditioning in summer.

Every car has a "warm reminder" sign with a suction cup on the base, which has the contact number of the parent-child organization. We called this number to reflect the problem, and then contacted the engineer and our WeChat video. We tried many methods, but we couldn't solve the problem of external power supply. Our three families have even been discussing how to allocate accommodation with the remaining two cars.

But in the end, the parent-child organization simply changed the car for us-although we didn't propose to change the car because it was too far away.

The driver ran 100 kilometers to pick up the car. It was already night 10 when I arrived, and then I drove back the car that couldn't connect to AC. This kind of service attitude really has nothing to say. Here I specially made a small advertisement for them to show my gratitude.

The car is equipped with a touch-screen smart TV and an Android system. Turn on the TV WiFi switch to connect the mobile phone traffic, and then turn on the video software such as iQiyi, and you can directly project the screen. At first, we thought it was the best way to calm the children down. However, several children have been in a state of high excitement. After watching cartoons, I have to eat supper, play after eating, and watch movies when I am tired. They have been tossing until the early hours of the morning.

Although there is an anti-mosquito gauze curtain on the side door, many mosquitoes enter the car because of the children's entry and exit. There is no mosquito net in the car, so we have to carry it by mosquito repellent. ...

Of course, there are also places to spit. Of course, it's all about the car.

The first is the rearview mirror, because the car is closed, so this thing can't see behind the car at all, and can only be used as a "chat mirror" to observe the family behind it. So for this car, I personally think that the serial rearview mirror is essential.

Secondly, there is no cosmetic mirror in either the bathroom or the living room. It is very inconvenient for mothers to get up in the morning and only use the rearview mirror.

Moreover, many corners of the car are not wrapped with anti-collision sponges, which makes it easy for children to hit their heads.

Finally, there is something wrong with the design of the bathroom door. When taking a bath, the water splashed on the inside of the door will flow directly along the door to the floor outside ... After all, in many humanized designs, Datong RV80 still has a lot of room for improvement.

However, in any case, RV tourism is still a new thing in China, and it is fortunate to have such an experience with children in China, especially during the epidemic.
