What are the classic African movies?

African classic films include Hotel Rwanda, Zulu, The Last King of Scotland, Forward or Death, and Black Hawk Down.

1, Rwanda Hotel

There are many similarities between the two films, both of which are set in 1994 Rwanda's civil war and genocide. The protagonist of Hotel Rwanda is a hotel manager, and the protagonist of Hound is a missionary and news photographer, which depicts the story of the protagonist helping the victims escape from ethnic cleansing.

The film tells the audience that even if the whole country goes crazy, no matter how much hatred and tragedy it arouses, human nature and conscience still exist. Although the two films are similar in content, they are not simple remakes. If "Hotel Rwanda" makes people see hope in the dark, then "Hunting Dog" makes people's faith and courage fall into the abyss of despair in the test.

2. Zulu

The film is set in the Zulu War of 1879, between the British Empire and the indigenous kingdom of South Africa-Zululan. The shooting angle of the film is very objective, which not only depicts the patriotic feelings of British soldiers, but also shows the courage of Zulu soldiers to defend their country and die.

In this way, the audience can think about the war from two angles and place sympathy and admiration on both sides. Half of the length of the film reflects the huge war scenes, and the peculiar customs of the local aborigines have greatly attracted the attention of the audience.

3. The Last King of Scotland

This is a political history film, not a war film, but I believe that friends who like war movies will also like this film. The story revolves around the change of the relationship between the former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin and his Scottish doctor, and depicts the greedy, cold-blooded and Machiavellian military dictator of this small African country.

The film was shot mainly in Uganda. With the joint efforts of photographers and designers, the sound scene of Uganda nearly 40 years ago was successfully reproduced.

4. Go forward or die

This is a film about the early French foreign legion, which took place in Morocco under the French colonial rule in the 1920s. The story is similar to raiders of the lost ark, but this film made in 1970s is better than raiders of the lost ark in both plot and war scene. The film is always filled with sad atmosphere, and the characters' feelings are complex and subtle, but the war scene at the end of the film is quite shocking, which can be described as a quite successful war emotional film.

5. Black Hawk Down

People who like war movies have never heard of this movie, which restores the real scene of 1993 in Somalia in February. Needless to say, it is necessary to mention that it was because of the failure of the Somali operation that the United States stopped interfering in African affairs, which led to the Rwandan massacre two months later (1February 1994), which was described in Hotel Rwanda and Hunting Dogs above.
