In the sixth year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty, Huotong Mountain was listed as one of the thirty-six caves when it was named a famous mountain in the world. Zhiti Temple, located in the territory of Zhiti Shanxi, is the center of the whole Huotong Mountain, and also the center for viewing the scenic spots of Zhiti Mountain.
