How to shoot birds

Birds are good friends of human beings. Throughout the ages, the color and dexterity of birds, agility and diligence, crows and spirituality have given literati and poets a lot of emotions and inspiration. The flexible posture of birds makes many photographers list them as shooting targets. Shooting birds has high requirements for photographic equipment and shooting technology. Here are some basic shooting techniques.

1. Select telephoto lens.

Birds are usually very small, so it is difficult to shoot them at close range. Therefore, a telephoto lens above 200mm is a necessary weapon. Many bird photographers use a 400 mm large aperture lens.

Step 2 choose the focus

The flexible and fast movement of birds requires the photographer to focus accurately. Single focus suggests the use of central focus. The focusing accuracy of central single-point focusing is higher than that of multi-point focusing, and it is not easy to misjudge the focus because of other objects in the foreground and background when following birds.

3. Set the focus mode

Shooting birds needs to set the focus mode to AI focus. Only by adopting this continuous focusing mode can we keep track of the birds and keep the subject in a clear state.

4. Enable continuous shooting function

During the flight, the bird's posture changes constantly. Turning on the continuous shooting function can capture more instantaneous forms, so as to select satisfactory photos.
