The Historical Evolution of School of Remote Sensing Information Engineering of Wuhan University

The Institute of Remote Sensing Information Engineering is an information and engineering institute integrating remote sensing, surveying and mapping, spatial information and digital engineering technology. It is based on training senior professionals engaged in remote sensing, surveying and mapping and spatial information technology to serve modernization. Its predecessor was Wuhan Institute of Surveying and Mapping, which was established on 1956 by Tongji University, Tianjin University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, South China University of Technology and Qingdao University of Technology. There is a department of aerial surveying and mapping, including aerial photogrammetry and surveying and mapping. 1August, 957, the department of aerial photogrammetry was established independently. With the development of remote sensing technology, the specialty of aerial photogrammetry was renamed as the specialty of photogrammetry and remote sensing in 1984, and the department of aerial photogrammetry was renamed as the department of aerial photogrammetry and remote sensing in 1985. The School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering was founded in 1995, and the School of Information Engineering merged with the Department of Computer Science in April 1996. After the establishment of New Wuhan University in August 2000, the School of Remote Sensing Information Engineering and the Department of Computer Science were established separately.

After long-term efforts, the photogrammetry and remote sensing disciplines currently owned by the college are the first batch of national key disciplines approved by the Ministry of Education and the key construction disciplines of "2 1 1" project. Bi Weimin (9702 1 class) 20 12. 10 began to serve as member and secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Remote Sensing Information Engineering of Wuhan University. Ma Hongxu, a student from the School of Remote Sensing Information Engineering of Wuhan University, and nine other students participated in the quiz show "Genius Know" of China Education 1 on behalf of Wuhan University. Ma Hongxu, the first-season single-game scoring champion of the 20th12 graduate students of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower of our school, beat Yan Kun, the first-season champion of Peking University, and won the first-season champion of God knows, winning a public welfare grant of150,000 yuan for Wuda University.

The scene of the "peak confrontation" is ups and downs and exciting. After a brutal knockout, Ma Hongxu and Yan Kun met in the championship as scheduled. In the "round answer", "* * * answer" and "memory question", the scores of the two players are one after the other, and the scores rise alternately. Especially on the "memory problem" with extremely high difficulty coefficient in the end, the competition between the two sides became fierce. Ma Hongxu, who was behind the score, fought back to equalize the score and dragged the game into extra time, which decided the outcome. In the struggle for the last question, Ma Hongxu was resourceful, grabbed the question first and got the correct answer, and finally won the first season championship of God knows with this key point.

After winning the championship, Ma Hongxu shed tears with excitement. "Thanks to the alma mater Wuhan University, which is about to celebrate the 20th anniversary of/kloc-0. I hope that after this program is broadcast, more junior high school students, high school students and even college students can see the spiritual outlook of contemporary college students, and also let us feel that knowledge makes people more attractive. " Ma Hongxu said. After the competition, Ma Hongxu will accept the invitation of the program group to study in Britain.
