Which type of gimbal is better?

The better type of gimbal is the electric gimbal.

According to its rotation characteristics, the pan/tilt can be divided into a horizontal rotating pan/tilt that can only rotate left and right and an omnidirectional pan/tilt that can rotate both left and right and up and down. Generally speaking, the horizontal rotation angle is 0°~350°, and the vertical rotation angle is +90°.

The horizontal rotation speed of a constant-speed gimbal is generally between 3° and 10°/s, and the vertical speed is about 4°/s. The horizontal rotation speed of a variable-speed gimbal is generally between 0° and 32°/s, and the vertical rotation speed is around 0° and 16°/s. In some high-speed camera systems, the horizontal rotation speed of the pan/tilt is as high as more than 480°/s, and the vertical rotation speed is more than 120°/s.

In fact, the pan/tilt is an installation platform composed of two AC motors or DC motors, which can move horizontally and vertically. But it should be noted that the pan-tilt we call is different from the pan-tilt in photographic equipment. The pan-tilt in photographic equipment is generally just a tripod, and the orientation can only be adjusted by hand; while the pan-tilt in the monitoring system is controlled by the control system. Its rotation and direction of movement can be controlled remotely.

Working mode:

If you need to place the gimbal on a car or other relatively high position for shooting, the upside-down mode is an ideal choice. In this mode, you can shoot at a higher angle.

Users can set Ronin to upside-down mode before turning on the power, or flip Ronin 180° from portable mode, or enter upside-down mode. During this flipping process, the user cannot flip the Ronin to the left or right, and can simply turn the handle upside down.

When using the upside-down operation mode, users can easily flip the gimbal up and down, keeping the camera at eye level without having to lift the gimbal.
