Travel notes of Chaozhou ancient city in Jieyang

I have long heard that Guangji Bridge, one of the four ancient bridges, is in Chaozhou, so I want to witness the charm of the ancient bridge with my own eyes. After thinking for more than two years, I finally took advantage of this National Day holiday to see the ancient city of Chaozhou.

During the National Day holiday, the scenic spots were crowded, but the Chaoshan route was not popular. It takes about four hours from the departure date 10 to Jieyang. After passing the Jieyang Building, you walk in and visit the Jieyang Museum to get to know the local people in Chaoshan area. Originally, the folk customs here are very distinctive, such as wood carving, tide embroidery, porcelain painting, dragon dancing, lion dancing, crocodile jumping and floating colors.

Jieyang Gong Xue is the highest institution of learning in Jieyang in the old days. It was founded in Song Dynasty and rebuilt twice in Qing Dynasty. Now there are statues of Confucius and exhibition halls to publicize the Confucian culture of Confucius and his disciples and the essence of benevolence, filial piety and loyalty.

Close to Gong Xue is Jieyang Old Street, with narrow streets side by side. Two exquisite old buildings were found in the old street, namely the City God Temple and the Leigong Temple. They have been built for more than 600 years and have been restored several times. The top of the temple hangs from the top of the mountain, and seven beams and gold pillars are supported by a three-liter bucket arch. The main hall is connected, and the plum blossom pillars and eaves in the hall are beautifully carved. The decoration of the roof, the dragon wind on the roof, and the porcelain inlaid by immortals and animals are all in it. Walking in the street is also a surprise. Try Jieyang snacks, oyster sauce, glutinous rice flour and other snacks when you are tired.

I stayed in Jieyang that night, and the hotel gave me breakfast coupons and snack coupons, as well as milk snacks and sour plum soup. Good service and enthusiasm.

Take a night off, have breakfast and leave for Chaozhou. It is too difficult to park in Guangjimen. I turned around twice before parking a few kilometers away and rented a tricycle to go to the scenic spot. The four ancient bridges in China, located on the Han River, are the first open-close pontoon bridges in China and even in the world, and are praised as the earliest open-close bridges in the world by the famous bridge expert Mao Yisheng. From 5: 30 pm to 9: 00 the next morning, Upright will be towed away for the big ship to sail off the bridge.

Due to the danger of the Han River, it was destroyed and built repeatedly, and it was rebuilt more than 20 times in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. In order to adapt to its unique topography and water potential, it has a unique bridge shape, and the piers have their own characteristics. The 24 piers under the bridge are all made of granite mortises and tenons, which are wider than ordinary piers. The original two iron cows were washed away in Zhenjiang, so there is a folk song: "Chaozhou Xiangqiao is very romantic. Eighteen shuttle boats are on twenty-four continents, twenty-four sets are twenty-four, and two Niu Yi only slip."

Guangjimen Tower is a palace-style three-story attic, located on the top of the mountain, facing Guangji Bridge. The roof is covered with two layers of large blue tiles, and the eaves are all embedded with blue glass hooks, carved columns and painted buildings, and the windows around are bright and clean, and the flying pavilion is full of flowers, which is magnificent. Not far apart, there are four doors, such as upper water gate, lower water gate and bamboo gate. There is a three-story attic on each door, which is connected by city walls and is two or three kilometers long.

I rented a tricycle and searched for ancient buildings along the ancient city of Chaozhou. I went to Kaiyuan Temple, Xumafu and Gong Xue successively, and I saw many ancient temples in this city. It is said that Chaoshan people believe in Buddhism and God, and the incense is flourishing. That's true. The tricycle owner has been taking us to the specialty store to buy special products and recommended four or five. I didn't buy it out of anger. I left Chaozhou only to find that I didn't bring a personal letter and came back empty-handed.

We moved the boat closer to hers, invited her to join us, and summoned more wine and lanterns to start our party again. However, before she came to us, we called a thousand times and urged her for a thousand times, but she still hid half of her face behind her guitar from us. I waited by the river for two hours for a beautiful light show, but I haven't received a generous reward yet. I broke down twice in five minutes and stopped playing. I can't wait! Leave some regrets!

On the 4th, I was ready to leave Chaozhou, so I went to Huangmanzhai Waterfall along the road. Several waterfalls flow down the mountain, which is very spectacular. The scenery in the village is also very quiet, but the tickets are quite expensive.

After watching Huangmanzhai Waterfall, I saw an ancient village in Jiexi, and the exquisite decoration was amazing. Along the way, I found that many ancestral temples have been preserved in many villages in Chaoshan area, which are well repaired and can be passed down, which is rare in other places. Exquisite wood carving and stone carving techniques are the characteristics of Chaoshan dwellings.

You must eat handmade beef balls and beef hotpot when you go to Chaozhou. It is really delicious. After eating, I remembered that I didn't take pictures. Haha, this trip is perfect.
