Many people regard Chislov as an autobiographical movie fan. In fact, in the eyes of everyone who is crazy about movies, he will see his sweet and helpless shadow and story. The power of images leads an ordinary citizen on a journey to an unknown surprise gift. When it goes deep into people's lives with a camera, how to distinguish the real world from the image world? What kind of compromise and resistance should we go through between ourselves and our creation in order to be innocent? Today, this film shot more than 20 years ago is still revealing and questioning the interactive relationship between art and life. Text/Luo Weiwei

Valentina, a young Swiss female student, stumbled upon the secret of an old judge: he lived alone at home all day and eavesdropped on other people's phone calls as a way to know the truth of the world. Valentina couldn't accept it at first, but after getting to know his relationship with the eavesdropper step by step, as well as the helpless deception and lies between people, the two became friends who forgot the past year and confided in each other about the unknown betrayal and trauma in their lives. Valentina's innocence washed away many darkness of human nature. At the end of the story, she finally met a man who often had a problem with her and was similar to the old judge. Sincerity and love bring warm rebirth.
In the tricolor series, the red affection may be the gentlest conclusion, which means the red color of "fraternity". This time, it was carried out through a girl who was unbearable but embraced forgiveness and purity. It was faint and leisurely. Finally, after the ship was sad, Chislauski finally showed us many possibilities and conclusions of fate and human nature. Light and shadow, sadness and forgiveness, as the finale of the three colors, are a rotating and moving Polly dew. Text/Luo Weiwei

Carlo, a Polish hairdresser, fell in love with Dominic, a French hairdressing model. They got married by lightning and immediately settled in Paris. The language barrier and cultural differences made Carlo unbearable, his career was hit, and he was extremely depressed, which also affected his sex life with Dominic. Dominic filed for divorce because her husband could not satisfy his sexual needs. She severely cut all the information about Carlo, including his barber shop.
Carol, who was penniless, didn't even have a passport to return to Poland, so his friend checked him back to Poland at random in the suitcase. In order to get revenge, Carlo used his brains and made a lot of money. He got a guard position in the remittance team. As a result, he eavesdropped on the land development plan of the material group and risked being killed to make a fortune from it.
Carlo, who made a fortune, faked his own death and tricked Dominic into coming to Warsaw to receive a huge inheritance. On the night of the funeral, Dominic returned to the hotel and found Carol lying in bed waiting for her. The two of them relived an old dream for a night. The next day, Carol disappeared like a ghost, and the police arrested Dominic on suspicion of murdering Carol.
Dominic knew it was all Carlo's trick. She fell into Carol's trap and was sent to prison. One night, Dominic saw Carol from the prison window. Dominic told Carol in sign language to wait for her.
Chislauski's works always describe "fate" accurately. White Infatuation is the second part of the trilogy of blue, white and red. White symbolizes freedom, and the theater shows how love makes a man and a woman deprive each other of their freedom. There is love and hate, and people's lives rush by on the way of hurting and attacking each other. Maybe this is fate. "Wen/He"

A musician couple took their daughter on the road and had a serious car accident on the way. Husband and daughter were killed on the spot, and only Julie was seriously injured and survived. In the face of the former residence where her old friend was absent, Julie decided to entrust her beloved husband and friend Olivier to handle the property, rent it out alone and start her own healing journey. Julie has met some new people, but she still has to face some old things. Olivier publicly stated that she would continue to complete her husband's unfinished symphony. Julie sensed Olivier's intention and said that she would finish it for him, but Olivier refused. At the same time, Julie finally found out that her husband was unfaithful to her secret law student, and she met a pregnant female student, which actually enabled her to face the reality and move on. She decided to leave the house to her husband's unborn child. She went to the nursing home where her mother lived and began her peace and rebirth.
The main characters are musicians, so the film chooses to let the music speak in many paragraphs instead of letting the characters speak. Zbigniew Preisner and Chislauski complement each other with amazing tacit understanding and imagination, which makes this story about inner journey linger. This film won three awards: Best Film, Best Actress and Best Photography at 1994 Venice Film Festival. Chislauski said that this story is about "freedom", an irreparable past, a persistent future, in which people's trauma ups and downs, love and death are so difficult, but you still have to love, you can get real freedom. Veronica of Poland has a godsend voice, and her beautiful life is about to begin. In the square, she saw the girl exactly like her taking pictures on the tour bus. She watched it again and again, and there was a place in her heart that unknown so held on to. Polish girl Veronica died suddenly on the stage. Veronica, a girl from France, suddenly became sad and realized that she had lost or that she was not alone in this world. She had a new love, and that love made her see the mysterious connection between it and fate. Life is gone, but it was taken away by another person. The plot and story continue and will not end.
Chislauski said that this film is about some indescribable premonitions and connections. The golden filter covers the film with a dreamy and happy tone, as if Veronica's world was truly complete in this light. Interestingly, in the early stage of filming, Chislov's preferred hero and heroine were American actor andie macdowell and Italian director nanni moretti, but in the case of karma, the actors Elaine Jacobs, Ir e ne Jacob and Philippe Volter who were more suitable for this role all met the requirements. This is the first film made by Chislauski in the western world, and he even edited another version of the story for the American audience, which is worth pondering. The soundtrack of this film was written by the director's old partner Zbigniew Preisner. The music in ancient Italian is touching, telling the subtle feelings of the characters and their mutual involvement. It is also a classic soundtrack that should not be missed. Text/Luo Weiwei
Goodbye Kislauski (documentary)

Farewell, Master Chislauski.

Krzysztof kieslowski is one of the greatest directors in recent years. He died, just like most great directors.
194/kloc-0 was born in chislauski, Warsaw, Poland on June 27th, and graduated from the Rhodes film academy, a well-known film academy. Before that, he went through the fireman training college, which he hated deeply, and the resident technician college, which brought him many gains. However, Rhodes Film Academy was admitted only after the third exam. This prestigious school has always selected only five or six candidates from a thousand candidates.
After graduation, Chislauski was assigned to the Warsaw Documentary Factory as a director and became famous for his documentaries in the 1970s. In Poland, at least in Poland at that time, documentaries were not used as TV stalls or bureaucratic propaganda tools. They are not only shown in cinemas, but also attract many people to see this "reality". But Chislauski found: "Not everything can be described. This is the biggest problem of documentary. Making a documentary is like falling into a trap set by yourself. The more you try to get close to a person, the farther that person will hide. " I'm afraid of those real tears, because I don't know if I really have the right to shoot them. At that moment, I always felt that I was a person who stepped into the restricted area. This is the main reason why I avoid documentaries. 」
It is precisely because the subject often turns off the most honest and secret side when facing the camera; When the photographer turns on the camera, he can't help but question his legitimacy (this relationship later became the theme of Qi's second love movie "Movie Madness"). So in 1973, he changed his direction from a half-hour TV movie. In 1976, he made his first romantic film, Scar/Blease, and then his focus shifted to a more free-swinging romantic film.
In the past, we mentioned Polish films, either because they were located in the border or because the information was blocked. We may think that they are all dogmatic propaganda materials, but this is all wet! Polish filmmakers not only jumped onto the international stage after the Second World War, but also made great achievements. In China, it has always played the role of artistic conscience of criticism and urging. Among them, the spicy and profound political and social films of "X Film Group" directed by the famous director andrzej wajda are world-renowned. Tor, headed by krzysztof zanussi, is a rising star, mainly shooting "moral anxiety movies", among which Chislauski is one.
Ironically, although Qi Zlosky's film career can be traced back to 1968, and he won the Moscow Film Festival Award for "Camera Fan/Amato, 979" after he switched to the romantic film field, the international film industry really paid attention to his extraordinary performance after 1988. The reason is complicated. One of his films was often banned during martial law. Even if it is not banned, the barriers created by different international camps have made fans in other worlds unfamiliar with Eastern Europe. But then again, because this period was completely unaffected by mercantilism in Western Europe and North America, the artistic purity and national film style maintained by Eastern European films were immediately amazing as soon as the Iron Curtain was opened. On the contrary, after the exchange began in the 1990s, Eastern European films failed to produce a few proud transcripts.
1988, a short film about killing /Krotki film o Zabijaniu was filmed in the miserable city of Jiakan. This film, which lasted less than 90 minutes, profoundly explained the ubiquity of killing and the possibility of death penalty. The gloomy yellow, green and gloomy tones of the whole movie complement each other with the reflection that permeates it. Although the conservative jury only awarded him a "jury award", critics gave the highest evaluation to Hitchcock Shooting Dostoevsky (the best in skill and thought).
Almost at the same time, a "weird film" called "Short Film about Love, 1988" appeared in other film festivals. This movie is only about a big boy who peeps at the woman in the apartment opposite through a telescope every day, but it has the most affectionate description and exquisite handwriting. And the director of this film is also called Chislauski.
Even more surprising is yet to come. It turns out that Killing Movie and Love Movie were not only written by Chislowski, but only two of them were derived from his work The Ten Commandments! The Ten Commandments is a TV film he made for TV stations. The Ten Commandments are all explained by the life of a community in Warsaw. As the funds came not only from Bokang TV, but also from the Ministry of Literature and Art and foreign countries, Chislauski promised to select several Ten Commandments from them and make them into longer film versions. He himself first chose the fifth commandment: "You shall not kill anyone. The Ministry of Education chose the sixth commandment: "Do not commit adultery. "I didn't expect two-tenths of them to convince the most critical fans in the world. The Ten Commandments, originally filmed for TV, immediately became a hot commodity in various film festivals. Even filmmakers who don't know how to arrange the complete series of 10 hours prefer to buy and sell (including Taiwan Province Province).
Many people think that Chislauski's films entered Taiwan Province Province because 1990 Golden Horse International Film Festival listed his Ten Commandments as "the director's focus". In fact, from the end of 1989 to the beginning of 1990, "romance" and "murder" were released in Taipei. I will always remember the first time I saw a love movie. My whole heart and my whole head feel as if they had been electrocuted. People can only collapse in the seats of the theater and can't experience it for a long time. From then on, I became a disciple of Chislov.
After the Ten Commandments, the conceited French took advantage of the open communication between East and West and immediately dug Chislauski to France to make a film. Usually I'm too worried about this situation, because many directors can't make good movies once they leave their own land, and I'm afraid Chislauski will make the same mistake. However, there is a movie called "The Double Life of Veronica/La Double vie de Veronique (1991)", which is so good that people can rest assured.
It's hard to understand what this movie is about. This is clearer and more transparent than the story can cover: two Verona cards and one in France. A Veronica from Poland, although I didn't know her, accidentally took a photo of Veronica in Poland while traveling in Poland. After Veronica in Poland died suddenly in the middle of singing, Veronica in France felt inexplicably sad and even decided to give up singing. Its purpose is not to show off the mystery of coincidence, but to feel the connection and influence between people beyond logical imagination, which not only emphasizes the value of individual subjectivity, but also regards the subtle throbbing induction in life as a valuable ability. Because of the complicated interpersonal relationship, Chislauski sent the Ten Commandments to different countries, even between individuals separated by Yin and Yang. However, no matter from the rebirth of women from the experience of death, from the dialectical analogy between Poland and France, or from the similar inheritance of the two lives, double-sided Veronica is like a prelude or overture to the following "three colors" series.
Good movies should be shared with good friends. Unfortunately, odd Zlosky's movies are not good-looking. When Romance and Murder hit the customs, there were too many people who didn't know the goods, and other works could only be shown at the Golden Horse Award International Film Festival several times. However, although domestic filmmakers bought the Ten Commandments, they were only willing to perform twice at the strange "Friday Film Festival" held by their own theaters, and then dragged on for several years and simply made a video. It was not until Chislauski announced the start of shooting on the three colors of the French flag (freedom, equality and fraternity) that the first finished product "Blue/troy Messenger: Bleu" (1993) won the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival. Only then did other domestic filmmakers buy this series in one breath, and blue pornography became. As for "Double Veronica", it didn't arrive long after the full release of "Three Colors", and a subtitle was posted on the back of my ass to become "Life and Life of Double Veronica"
Instead, it became the "conclusion" of the release order.
It is absolutely impossible to appreciate Zlosky's films by "reading stories", otherwise "Blue Porn" would not be a film in which a sad woman meets her second spring? Imagine that the heroine tried to bury all her memories after her husband and daughter died in a car accident, but she pulled out the lollipop left by her daughter from her purse. She peeled off the candy paper like the pain of chewing hard with her teeth. I think she can't stand the squeaking of mice at night, but she can't do it to newborn mice (it's also a mother-child complex); It was not until her husband died that she knew his secret. I thought my life was over, only to find that my husband's flesh and blood had been born in another woman's womb. Only after he arranged for the heroine to escape from the "past" did he find that the shackles of the soul had not been released. Chislauski seems to have a pair of eyes more than us, so that he can see the image of life repeating itself in the corner from time to time. What we need is sensibility to accept the essence he has learned from it. If you want to study it carefully, even music, photography and editing will become one of the spirits.
White /Trzy Kolory: Bialy (1994), who won the best director of Berlin Film Festival, was marked as "equal". Chitulanowski doesn't seem to think that there is natural equality between men and women. Equality is immeasurable, and it is necessary to stumble and even be a little cunning to stimulate the other person's love reaction, which is both physical and spiritual. He asked zbigniew zamachowski, the protagonist of the Tenth Commandment, to play a Polish barber who lives in Paris. His beautiful French wife filed for divorce because of his impotence. He just returned to the motherland in a mess, but joined the capitalist game in a speculative way, made a fortune, faked his death to trick his ex-wife into going back to inherit, and then trapped her. Interestingly, through these sinister and depressing truths, he found the true love between them. Chislauski found a better expression of Fran? ois Truffaut's "La Sirene du Mississippi" (1969). Using a pair of enemies, while deconstructing love, they shaped the myth of love.
Chiturovsky announced his retirement from the film industry at the press conference of Berlin's tragic exhibition "White Passion". At this time, everyone has learned that the last work of the "three colors" series "Red/Trois Couleurs: Rouge (1994)" will be his masterpiece (many news mistakenly think that Chiturowski is in "Red", so it is difficult to know how I feel when I receive the news. A happy ending, of course, is not something that ordinary people can do. But for an artist with such strong creativity, it is a pity to fade out of the film world.
As the end of the "three colors" series, or a summary of one's film career, Love in Red teaches people to respect it. Chislauski makes two individuals with completely different attitudes towards life have a complicated dialogue between persistence and interaction. Just say the ending! The kind model (Elaine Jacobs) decided to go to England by boat at the suggestion of the old judge (Jean-Louis Tehand). According to the weather forecast, Wan Li is clear, but the cruise ship with 1400 passengers capsized in the sea. Then a gust of wind blew off the glass on the old judge's desk. He heard the bad news that the model told him on TV. In the lens, the projection of feelings is from one thing to another, but it reflects the unpredictable emotions of the role and even the director. It's like when the model was rescued on TV, the red flag belonging to the rescue boat behind her rose with the wind. This scene is exactly the same as the plane photography she took for the gum advertisement, but the feeling is quite different. This contrast is no coincidence. It is not only the repeated exhalation of the motif, but also the director's view on the impermanence of life.
But I don't call it fatalism. I have always opposed the idea that Zlosky's films are fatalistic. He is really pessimistic, not necessarily fatalistic. "Pessimist beyond fatalism" should be a more appropriate description. The sharp-eyed audience can easily see that apart from the model and a young man who looks like an old judge, there are also the heroes and heroines in Blue Porn and White Passion, and a stranger who was finally rescued in the shipwreck. This is the director's declaration. Just as a person's conscience can't save the suffering of the whole world, he has no right to tell you how many people died and how many people were saved, but he can be responsible for the role he created. This is the reason why the "three colors" protagonist finally appeared. The director doesn't know this stranger. This is because of the huge life, but knowing life outside, it never slackens. The string of tears shed by the old judge at the end of the film, like Qi Slovski's, flowed to fate and sentient beings.
I must admit that every time I write about Chislov, I have to hesitate again and again. My talent is limited! Just like facing all my favorite works, I feel that the interpretation of words is redundant and blasphemous. To paraphrase Chitulawski, "Basically, if it's a good movie and I like it, then I won't analyze it, unlike watching a movie I don't like. If I have to explain my feelings about Chislauski's works, I would rather borrow a passage from him: "For me, art is a sign of quality and style, because when I read, watch or listen to it, I suddenly feel that someone has clearly expressed my experience or thoughts. Although those experiences and ideas are foreign, the author can use better sentences, imagination and arrangements that I can't imagine. "Otherwise, it can give me a feeling of beauty or joy in an instant." Chislauski's movies are to me, and so are they.
In 1996, after the Spring Festival, I suddenly wanted to see a love movie again (although I have watched it many times). After reading it, I thought of the courses that the auxiliary film club should offer in the new semester, so I simply did Chislov's research. On March 13, in the first class, I first introduced his life, and then I read the first of the Ten Commandments: a sad house where a loving life was lost for no reason. After class, I will continue to have tea with my classmates and talk about all kinds of strange Zlosky movies. On the way home, I was half asleep because of fatigue. I don't know how long the car has been parked I opened my eyes and found a train standing motionless in grade crossing. I don't know if it is broken. The traffic jam lasted so long that I couldn't move in the face of this surreal scene. I have half an hour to turn around before I turn the corner. When I got home, I found some articles I wrote about Chitulovsky, but I was not satisfied. I listened to telephone messages while reviewing. Because of the intentional or unintentional delay, more news informed the news agency that I was in urgent need but did not explain the reason. Then I heard: "Chitulovsky died! My eyes have just fixed on an article "Farewell to the Master", which I wrote when Chislauski announced his retirement. Because I can't bear to part with it, I didn't write Farewell to the Master, but wrote Farewell to the Master.
Thinking about this night, just like the plot in Chislov's movie, I sat for several days to find a pen and paper, and finally wrote:
Farewell to the master, Kislauski (1941.6.27-1996.3.13).

How many tests and doubts do lonely souls need to go through to forgive and comfort each other?
Love movies are developed from the Seventh Commandment of ZiZlov's famous TV movie. Starting from a very small plot, Chislauski put forward a most basic but difficult philosophical proposition: what is "love"? What does it contain? Can something visible prove the existence of "love"? How to express "love" At the end of the film, the woman finally saw the telescope that revealed her deep love. Looking from there, she saw herself crying and the sincerity that came to comfort her. Love finds its own meaning in these misunderstandings and tolerance. Text/Luo Weiwei
