Can you really tell the whole picture from the afterimage?
The so-called Quan Huafu means that the sensor size of the camera is equivalent to 36*24mm 135 film size, which is determined by Kodak. The popularity of Leica cameras has made it an industry standard, and it has been used ever since. A camera with this size sensor is called a full-frame camera.
As we usually see, various brands of professional cameras use Quan Huafu sensors.
The so-called residual frame refers to APS-C frame. This standard was originally born in the film age. Its original intention is an advanced camera system. 1996, Kodak, Fuji, Canon, Minolta and Nikon introduced the specifications of a new generation of photographic systems different from the 35mm film system.
As we all know, when this system was not fully implemented in the film link, the digital wave struck and the film was stifled, so it failed to catch on. However, because the frame is smaller than that of Quan Huafu, it has advantages in technology and cost in sensor manufacturing, so it has been digitized and popularized, becoming the first choice for entry-level.
The APS system has three standards. The most common and simplest standard is APS-C, and the CMOS size of each family will be slightly different, but they are all around 25. 1* 16.7 mm (but even in Quan Huafu, the size of each family will be slightly different by several millimeters).
The entry-level cameras of various brands we usually see use APS-C size sensors.
Due to the development of camera manufacturing, many portable cameras have also used APS-C format sensors in recent years, such as Ricoh GR's two generations of cameras, which have been classic for decades.
There is no doubt that the size of CMOS affects the image quality. Another influence is that the actual focal length of the lens, such as GR above, is 18.3mm, and the equivalent focal length is about 28mm, which directly affects the depth of field.
In the field of crushing equipment, we all know that Quan Huafu is good. When we ask others to recommend your camera, we will also actively recommend you to buy a full-frame camera.
However, for many non-professional users, can you really see the difference between Quan Huafu and Fragments?
Manny Ortiz, a photographer, did an experiment to discuss the difference between photos taken with full-frame camera and APS-C camera.
To this end, he took a video in which he chose two different cameras to take the same photo.
One of them is Sony A9, the flagship camera of Dafa, with a matching lens of 85mm f/ 1.4 Gmaster head. The other camera is also Dafa, Sony a 6500 APS-C format, lens Zeiss head 55mm f/ 1.8.
When taking pictures in the daytime, Manny Ortiz sets the aperture of the 85mm G pan/tilt to f/2.8, and the aperture of the 55mm Zeiss pan/tilt to f/ 1.8, so as to match the depth of field effects of the two cameras as much as possible. F/ 1.8 is used at night, so the blurring effect of 85mm at night is much greater than that of 55 mm.
Let's see what he took with two cameras. If you only look at the photos, can you tell which is the whole picture and which is the residual picture?
The answers are as follows:
The first group:
Top: APS-C format?
Next: Quan Huafu.
The second group:
Left: Quan Huafu
Right: APS-C framework
The third group:
Left: APS-C framework
Right: Quan Huafu
The fourth group:
Above: Quan Huafu.
Below: APS-C framework
The fifth group:
Left: Quan Huafu
Right: APS-C framework
Group 6:
Left: Quan Huafu
Right: APS-C framework
How's it going? Did you see everything?
In fact, the debate about residual width and full width has a long history, but for most of us, are residual width and full width really that important? I totally agree that the whole picture has its own incomparable competitiveness, but for most beginners, for many people who just look at the photos on the screen, is it necessary to buy the whole picture in one step?
No comments here, because everyone has their own opinions. The most important thing is to stick to your own ideas and choose the camera that suits you best.
