How to match light in still life photography

Although the subject is still life, we should carefully control the contrast to avoid too bright light and too many shadows. The main lighting is provided by Polaroid 250 lamp holder with soft box. This device is arranged very close to the subject, providing enough light to eliminate shadows. A reflector is placed on the right side of the subject to ensure that the irradiated light is uniform and to prevent Gao Fancha when the main light deviates to one side.

Shooting method Using the light outside the window to create photos at home is a perfect solution, but it can only be done during the day. But the white days in winter are very short. If we hope that our creative enthusiasm will not be affected by the generosity or meanness of the sun, then we need a more stable and reliable light source.

Studio lights may be the best solution, but simpler and cheaper solutions are not without. Although the desk lamp is simple and cheap, it is not designed to meet the needs of photography, and the light is not soft enough. Direct use can only get a strong contrast effect, which is not our ideal choice at first glance. But in fact, we can build our own mini still life studio based on the desk lamp.
