Chow Yun-fat, born on May 18, 1955 in Lamma Island, Hong Kong, native of Kaiping City, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, is a Chinese film and television actor, photographer, and a national first-class actor. Since Chow Yun-fat has always been a hero and a big brother, many people think that he is over 1.85 meters tall, but in fact, his height is listed as 1.82 meters in official information.

Before engaging in acting, Chow Yun-fat had been living at the bottom of society. His only occupations included waiter in a business, child labor in an electronics factory, hotel waiter, postman, photographic equipment salesperson, etc. In 1973, 18-year-old Chow Yun-fat saw a recruitment advertisement for the Wireless Television Actor Training Class (TVB) in the newspaper, so he applied with his friends and was appreciated by Chung King-fai, one of the examiners.
