How to take different landscape photos in popular locations?
1. Creativity from different angles
Changing the angle of view is one of the common methods of mixed shooting. Try to shoot up. First, find a new angle around the building you want to shoot. You can look at landmarks from locations that you don't often shoot (maybe from the side or behind). This also gives you a chance to find a unique position to watch, giving you more flexibility and time to set up the perfect lens.
Try an unusual shot.
It's easy to choose the "best" shot. For example, if you are shooting a famous landscape, you may use a wide-angle lens by default, and you will not consider trying to use a zoom lens to change things in this case, and focus on the details that many other photographers may miss when shooting with a more standard or "appropriate" lens. You will be surprised to find how many gorgeous details of famous landmarks are hidden to achieve the overall picture effect.
Use props in the lens
Whether it is physical props or other subjects, photographers have the opportunity to introduce new objects of interest into their photos. Props can tell an impossible story by taking more classic photos. They provide photographers with new works and different photos with props.
4. Explore more remote areas
Cities with famous landmarks fully know how to maximize the interest of tourists, which is why scenic paths, paths and observation platforms are often so crowded. If you are willing to let tourists be part of the shooting, you may get some good photos from these places, but it is better to walk less in some inaccessible places.
If possible, explore other areas around you to get the same good scenery, which may mean that you have to go further or explore some little-known streets, but this is the interesting part of traveling! In addition, these unique views may provide you with a perspective that you have never seen before, and may inspire you to create works that you can't see anywhere else.
Shooting at night
Changing the external scene by taking some photos at night may also make it easier for you to set it in the ideal place when tourists are unlikely to flock to the best place. Even better is the "golden age" after sunset or before sunrise, when the light returned by the sun provides a glimmer of illumination for the originally dark sky.
Remember to try to expose these photos. Of course, your camera sensor needs a longer exposure time to understand the low light environment. Nevertheless, you will find out how a longer exposure time can turn the seemingly ordinary light into an amazing lighting beam, bringing vitality and personality to the landmarks you shoot.
6. Get some new perspectives from drones.
The bird's eye view forms a unique angle. Because many photographers are not skilled in using drones to shoot, it is one of the best ways to shoot from above in this way.
However, please note that before using drones, please investigate local laws to determine whether this method is suitable for you.
