How to Edge-seal Leather Products

Tools/raw materials: grinding rod, thinner, leather cutter, edge sealing wax.

Steps:

1. First cut the skin and sew up the stitched part. The picture shows three layers of 0.8 mm thick skin bonded together.

2. Smooth the front and back sides of the leather edge with an edge trimmer, which is light and easy to hurt the skin.

3. Scrape the uneven edges with thinner to make several layers of cowhide in a vertical line.

4. Grind back and forth with a grinding rod until the burr is smooth and invisible.

5. Grind with edge sealing wax several times. Edge sealing wax can fill the tiny gaps in the edge and make the edge smoother.

6. Gently polish the edges with fine sandpaper, so that the wax can more closely fill the gaps invisible to the naked eye. After grinding, re-grinding, edge sealing wax grinding, grinding with a grinding rod, and repeating this process until the edge is smooth.

7. After completion, the wallet edge sealing is completed.
