193 1 Born in Ho Fan, Shanghai, 14 years old won the photography award. 1949 moved to Hong Kong with his family and became familiar with black and white photos to capture the streets of old Hong Kong in 1950s and 1960s. He won nearly 300 regional and international awards and was awarded the title of "Top Ten Photographers in the World" by the American Photographic Society for eight consecutive years. Many of his works are collected by world-renowned museums, including Hong Kong M+ Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, French National Library, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and maritime museum in Melbourne, Australia.

He is also a member of the Royal Photographic Society and the Royal Art Society, and an honorary member of multinational photographic societies, including Singapore, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France, Italy and Belgium. Last year, he was awarded the "Honorable Person of the Year Award" by the Second Global Chinese Photography Award, and he is one of the most influential photographers in Asia.
