What is still life photography?

Still life photography is: shooting at close range, using small aperture and slow speed to achieve the purpose of showing the shape and quality of the subject in detail.

Still life photography, as opposed to figure photography and landscape photography, takes pictures of inanimate objects (this concept of inanimate objects is relative, such as fish and shrimp caught from the sea, melons and fruits picked, etc. ) and man-made objects that can move or combine freely as performance objects. Mostly take industrial or handmade products, natural inanimate objects and so on as the shooting theme.

On the basis of truly reflecting the inherent characteristics of the subject, the subject is represented as a photographic work with artistic beauty through creative ideas and photography means such as composition, light, tone and color. It's called still life photography. Still life photography has a broad world in material selection.

After selecting materials, we can deal with these objects at will, because objects are lifeless and can be pushed around and moved from multiple angles to achieve the creative intention. It is a deepening process of further understanding of artistic vision. When some ordinary objects are taken into fascinating photos, it is actually a process of in-depth study and observation of these objects.

You can gain more practical photography knowledge by shooting still life. For photographers, the difficulty of still life photography lies in its unique picture composition. When arranging the subject, we must choose the shooting angle, be creative in using light, and then apply the practical photography knowledge and basic principles learned from still life photography to daily photography.

Repeated shooting for a long time:

I often feel that the purpose of shooting determines the mood in the work. So if I take pictures just to relax myself (against being assigned a job to you), I will feel less oppressive, which will ensure that what photography wants to express is well restored. Doing things aimlessly is definitely a bad habit, but it may be a good habit for still life photography.

Unlike landscape photography, light does not change quickly; Unlike people who shoot, your subject matter will not become more and more boring, and it will always be like this, and there will be no change. These are the advantages of still life photography. You can fix your subject, light, background and camera, take some photos, then change them and continue shooting.
