Legend of Tianshengqiao

Tiansheng Bridge is located at the east of Shangri-La County 10 km, which has been interpreted as a mysterious and beautiful place in the hearts of Shangri-La people. Tianshengqiao is called "White Poor Noisy Neck" in Tibetan, which can be translated into "overpass crossed by lotus and peanuts" in Chinese. According to legend, when Lotus Peanut was invited to Tibet by Tucao, it translated Buddhist scriptures and promoted Buddhism. He often visited everywhere, and arrived at the Shuoduogang River. It was midsummer, and the soaring river blocked his way, so he had to live on the sacred mountain by the river. Knowing that lotus seed was blocked by water, the mountain god used magic to move a boulder from the mountain and build a bridge over the river, and lotus seed crossed the river from this bridge. After crossing the bridge, lotus seed bathed in the hot spring pool opened for him by the gods. This legend makes Tianshengqiao full of Tibetan Buddhism unique to Tibetan areas, which makes people feel pious invisibly.

The Shuoduogang River, which flows through Tiansheng Bridge, has also been endowed with tenacious character by Tibetans: it is said that Shuoduogang River and Naqu River, which flows through Midtown, are sisters born of one mother. In order to go to Damei, they set off from the Snow Mountain at the same time. When I came to Tiansheng Bridge, I was blocked by a solid stone cliff. Sister Naqu River retreated and diverted to Dazhong Dian grassland. Sister Shuoduogang River risked her life, broke through the cliff and ran forward. Tianshengqiao also left another mystery: it is said that Mu Tianwang used manpower to mine the chopsticks gold shaped like bamboo chopsticks produced here near Tianshengqiao. Before these chopsticks were put into use, King Mu was on the verge of death. When he died, he buried the mined gold near Tiansheng Bridge. This legend is said to have really attracted many treasure hunters, but none of them.

The mountains around Tiansheng Bridge are winding and beautiful, and the legendary lotus peanut bath pool is the geothermal hot spring near Tiansheng Bridge. Every Spring Festival, Tibetans come here to take a bath, which is said to wash away the troubles for a year. Sometimes, the hot spring pool will be crowded with well-dressed people, both men and women, taking a bath together in this gentle and humid natural water. Mr. Luo Jinhui once filmed this scene, which is called "Colorful Springs". This work won the gold medal in1991-1992 international environmental photography competition, which made the hot spring and the author famous all over the world. The theme of harmonious coexistence between man and nature in the works is also the natural feature of Tianshengqiao.

Walking on the Wolong-like bridge ridge branded with deep horseshoe prints, a bag of stone packers fixed on the ancient tea-horse road, just like the salt tea packers just unloaded by the groom, are permanently arranged at Tiansheng Bridge. According to legend, this is a gold and silver packer who was unloaded from Mr. Murong in Bennongbu. A stone statue of God of Wealth sits on the boulder next to the stone packer, guarding the past, present and future of Tiansheng Bridge.
