Attention flasher

First of all, it's best to choose the "old" brands that went on the market earlier, because they entered the field earlier and their technology is more mature, and they don't have to choose the products of well-known manufacturers, because most of these well-known manufacturers don't produce their own products, but only order other people's products for OEM. Secondly, we should know the level of repair rate and the supplier's three guarantees. When reading the product manual, don't be confused by the manufacturer's patent, serial number, single chip microcomputer,1/2000s, 4th gear and16th gear.

After seeing a brand, the only thing that can prove the quality is the actual test. Connect the receiver to the flashlight and the transmitter to the camera. Set the camera shutter to11000 seconds or 1/500 seconds. If the place permits, it can be more than 30 meters apart. Put the camera in various directions and postures, and shoot it repeatedly to see if there are any blind spots and whether it hits the target. Through the above tests, the reliability of the flasher can be explained. If your actual use environment is seriously disturbed, you should also choose products with good anti-interference performance, such as places where power tools are often used near the photo studio, and users had better borrow a pistol when buying.

If there is no other photo studio within 30 meters of your photo studio, or there is only one studio in the photo studio, there is no need to choose multiple products. In addition to the frequency of 7KHZ, the performance of multi-file products will decrease the response speed to the next file, that is, the shutter speed of the camera will decrease accordingly. Do not choose products with 6V and 9V batteries. Both of these batteries have short service lives. It's best to choose the product of battery No.5, and battery No.7 will do.

Wireless flashers can be divided into two types: radio frequency and infrared trigger:

Radio frequency flash lamp

Most flashers use this radio frequency signal. The RF flasher is not affected by sunlight, and the transmitter and receiver can flash even when they are not in sight, and the flashing distance is relatively far (Yuan Boxin micro scheme). The RF flasher includes:

Puwei Plus II, MultiMax, TT 1, TT5

Pixel F-5 10 TR-332

Yongnuo 602, PT-04

Radio popper

Infrared flash lamp

Infrared flasher is divided into two different devices (2 of 1): trigger and receiver. The transmitter must be in the line of sight before it can be used (that is, the receiver can see the transmitter directly, otherwise it can't flash. In addition, there must be no obstacles between the transmitter and the receiver). Infrared flasher is greatly influenced by sunlight, in this case, the use range of flasher will be shortened.

The premise of using this flasher is that the flasher must have its own infrared device. Many models of flashlights, including Canon and Nikon, are equipped with infrared devices (Yuan Bo Core Micro Scheme). An apparatus having an infrared device includes:

Canon Flash (Yuan Bo Core Micro Scheme): 580EX (transmitting and receiving), 580EX II (transmitting and receiving), 430EX (receiving), 430EX II (receiving), and so on.

Nikon flash: SB900 (sending and receiving), SB800 (sending and receiving), SB600 (receiving), and so on.

Yongnuo flash: YN465, YN467, YN468 and so on.

Infrared controller (Yuan Boxin micro scheme): Canon ST-E2, Nikon SU-800, Yongnuo ST-E2.

Wait a minute. There are not many advantages in using infrared devices to trigger the flash, but if you already have devices that support this technology, infrared may be suitable for you. However, the photographer should consider the needs of the shooting task when choosing which flash mode to use. The most important decision is whether the shooting task needs TTL automatic flash. Flash always suggests shooting in manual mode (camera and flash), but in some cases only TTL flash can be used. So let's look at TTL first.

TTL is a photometric system of flash, which is used to represent a flash system that uses "through lens" to measure exposure. TTL is a more accurate system, because all shooting factors, including aperture, focal length, object distance, filter and reflected light, can be considered by lens test, so as to calculate the best flash power.

TTL is very suitable for shooting moving objects or other situations where manual flash cannot be set in advance. Many wedding photography, children photography, sports photography, news photography and so on will choose to use TTL.

There are wireless TTL flashers in the market, which are convenient for outdoor use. The effective distance can basically reach 30 meters.

Most people who often start to play with flash will use the TTL flash on the top of the machine first, and then buy an off-board TTL flash line, but both Canon E-TTL II and Nikon i-TTL support infrared wireless flash. Both companies have flashlights and cameras, which can trigger the flashlights of subordinate units wirelessly. Of course, there are also independent infrared controllers: Canon ST-E2 and Nikon SU-800.

Canon ST-E2 infrared controller was produced more than 10 years ago. The purpose of using this controller is to enable the photographer to control the remote flash from the camera position. Although this function is not high-tech now, the market price is still quite high (it needs 1000 yuan).

When shooting for a long time, you don't need to put a flash on the camera's hot boots, which can reduce the weight of your hands. The weight of a flash is really not low (Puwei is much lighter than a flash, but I will still put Puwei in my trouser pocket and connect Puwei with a PC cable instead of inserting it in my hot boots). The weight of ST-E2 is much lower than that of flash, which can make photographers more comfortable:
