One-day tour in Kunming! How to play?

You can visit Cuihu Park, the former site of Yunnan Military Academy, Yunnan University, the former site of National Southwest Associated University and Justice Square.

Cuihu Park 1

Cuihu Lake, located in the center of Kunming, was originally a part of Dianchi Lake. As the water level dropped, it left a clear lake in the tall building. Because of the surrounding willows and bamboos, it pretends to be "Cuihu Park". As the center of Kunming cultural circle, Cuihu Lake is connected with popular scenic spots including Yunnan University, Culture Lane and Justice Square.

Cuihu is a paradise for red-billed gulls. Every year after winter, this seagull from Siberia will come here to enjoy the sunshine of spring city with people. When you throw gull food at them, groups of white figures fly up and down, and the scenery is spectacular.

2. Former site of Yunnan Military Academy

The Army Wujiang Pavilion is located on the west side of Cuihu Park, and the orange Republican-style building makes it stand out in the shade. This military school, which was trained as a "new army" by the Qing government, once trained outstanding generals including Zhu De, Ye Jianying and Lu Han.

The whole building adopts the most distinctive architectural structure of Zoumajiao in Yunnan. The corridor is spacious and connected in a circle, and you can walk around like a small castle. When you walk into the building, you can see the old training playground.

3.yunnan university

Yunnan University has been established for nearly a hundred years, and the campus is full of historical buildings and landscapes full of humanistic atmosphere. As the landmark building of Dayun, Hui Ze Garden's typical French architecture represents the urban landscape of Kunming at the same time. At the end of the 95-step Longmen Road, there is the spirit of Dayun, which stands for "a hundred schools of thought contend, benefiting the country and the people". Yunnan Gongyuan and Ming and Qing Imperial Examinations are still preserved on campus. You can also see the Yingqiu Courtyard and Zeqing Hall designed and built by Liang Sicheng and Lin.

4. Former site of National Southwest Associated University

Out of Yunnan University, walk along 2 1 street for a few minutes to Yunnan Normal University. It is also the former site of the famous national Southwest Associated University. National Southwest Associated University was jointly established by Peking University, Tsinghua University and Tianjin Nankai University during the Anti-Japanese War. Two Nobel Prize winners and nearly 100 academicians have been trained before and after, which is called Mount Everest in the history of education in China.

5. Justice Square

Zhengyifang is a building complex on the west side of Zhengyi Road and Zhengyi West Street. Like Chunxi Road in Chengdu, this commercial pedestrian street shows the combination of Kunming's history and fashion. Simple modern buildings are dotted between the blue tile roof and the traditional carved arch. Go to the square at the end of Zhengyi Road and have a look at the landmark building Jinma Bijifang in Kunming.
