The story of the parking lot

In the past two years, Taiyuan City was engaged in "Creating a Civilized City" and built a large free parking lot about 500 meters away from my home. The vehicles originally parked on both sides of the road were gradually "driven" away. In the parking lot. Why use the word "rush"? Because many people are unwilling to park in the parking lot, mainly because of the distance. People are used to parking on the roadside at the entrance of the community. Although the parking lot is only more than 500 meters away from our community, it still feels a bit inconvenient. Who wants to walk an extra 500 meters when you can find an empty seat close to your home downstairs? At that time, it seemed that people had a convention to drive the front of the car halfway to the curb and park the rear of the car on the road. This saves space. Three cars can be parked in two parking spaces.

Gradually, the traffic police control became stricter. After parking tickets were posted on the roadside, people parked their cars in the large parking lot. It must be said that the growth rate of vehicles is really fast. In the first year, two-fifths of the parking spaces in the parking lot were empty, and then they gradually became full. A few years later, the parking lot was full, and cars were parked on the original 6-meter-wide driveway, which became 4 meters wide. From the beginning, the vehicles parked straight, then some cars parked further forward and some parked further back. The lane not only narrowed, but also turned into a winding path. Nowadays, you can occasionally see people making gestures with their mobile phones from the exit, and they can also drive in openly. It is said that the access card was copied.

In short, in the beginning, only people who obeyed the rules used the parking lot; later, anyone who obeyed the rules or not had to use the parking lot; now, many people in the parking lot do not obey the rules.

This is the story of the parking lot. There is no protagonist and no plot, just the vehicles coming in and out and several lanes. The vehicles have gone from being parked neatly in the beginning to now being scattered across the street; the lanes have gone from being wide and straight at the beginning to being tight and curved now.

The parking lot is still so quiet, and its internal structure is changing like a super-slow animation. If you use "time-lapse photography" in the air to take a bird's-eye view, you will clearly see the trajectory of lane changes.

Who knows what parking lots will look like in the future.
