Aerospace Museum of Beihang University (Beihang Museum), formerly known as Beijing Aviation Museum, was established in 1985. It is expanded on the basis of the aircraft structure showroom and aircraft hangar of Beihang University. It is the first comprehensive space science and technology museum in China.

After nearly four years of building and expanding exhibits in the original site, the museum was reopened and renamed on 20 12, integrating teaching, popular science and cultural heritage. It is an important part of the National Aerospace Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and an important base for educating young people in space science culture, Beihang spirit, patriotism and national defense. The exhibition area of the museum is 8300 square meters, which is divided into four exhibition areas: dreaming in the air, silver eagle patrolling the air, Shenzhou asking for heaven and air corridor. More than 300 fine aerospace cultural relics recognized at home and abroad, as well as precious objects such as structures, engines and airborne equipment, bear rich scientific principles and heavy historical accumulation. The exhibits also show the principles of space flight and the course of human flight through high-tech means.

As a university museum, in addition to directly undertaking the teaching practice tasks of the national excellent course "Introduction to Aerospace" and core professional courses such as aero-engine, aircraft structure, landing gear structure, missile structure and spacecraft design, it also collects more than 30 aircraft and missiles of the United States and the Soviet Union before the founding of New China, especially the "Black Widow" fighter. There are only two in the world, most of which are the only ones in China, and the collection quantity and grade are second to none in the national aviation industry.
