What is the swimming timing system?

From leaving the platform to finally touching the wall

A swimmer's starter is similar to a short-distance track and field competition. Each swimmer is equipped with a speaker to announce the time when the timer or starter starts counting. In the relay race, players in the swimming pool must press the touch panel on the swimming pool wall to "mark" the next great teammate. Then, the touchpad sends a signal to the timing computer to record the competition time of the first athlete and start the departure time of the second athlete, and report it to the timing board.

This touchpad is made of a pile of thin PVC and horizontal bars, which can record concentrated pressure (such as from the player's hand) instead of scattered pressure (such as waves in a swimming pool). The timing process of individual events such as breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke is similar. During the competition, players must press the touch pads at both ends of the fairway to record their competition time. Water events also use Photo Finish technology similar to track and field events to record the images of sprinters at the speed of 100 frames per second.
