Akebia wulanensis, a place name, is now called wulanbu series. Located in Hexigten Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The Mongolian language of Wulanbu series means "Red Pot Mountain". Different grasslands in Wulan are located at the southernmost tip of Hexigten Banner, across the river from Saihanba Forest Farm in Weichang County, Hebei Province, and only over 300 kilometers away from Beijing. Wulanbutong was a part of Mulan paddock in Qing Dynasty.
