The core points of cultivating photographic eyes
One, three "many" are indispensable.
The three "many" here mean "observing more", "reading more" and "using more imagination".
More observation is helpful for thinking, observing the corners of the living environment, and even feeling the smell in the air, the smell of the season, etc. When you observe and feel, you will think about the composition of the picture, or the mood and feelings when shooting. In addition, we should also observe other people's excellent works, understand why the photographer took this photo, what is the significance, and appreciate other people's shooting methods through observation.
Read more books, absorb other people's knowledge, ideas and moods, and get inspiration from them, so that you can become the nutrient for the next photo shoot and transform it into the image you see.
Use your imagination more. As the saying goes, "Seeing a mountain is a mountain, but not a mountain". A leaf on the treetop is just a leaf seen by others. What do you see? What are the details of leaf texture? Pure lines on the leaf margin? Metaphor of green plants in spring? Or a symbol of the rebirth of life?
Second, always be curious.
Photography requires us to always be curious about things in the world. In the world we live in, there are too many subjects that can be recorded. However, are you too familiar with the subways, restaurants and alleys you sit in every day to be curious about them? This is not surprising. Most people do. But it takes curiosity to cultivate the ability of photographic observation.
So from now on, take out the curiosity that has been sealed for a long time and re-observe the world! You will find that you are not familiar with the environment of your daily life. Curiosity will urge you to observe the previously neglected corners and make your work different.
Third, don't set limits for yourself.
Whether it is scenery, portraits, tourism, humanities, sketches, food and other themes, or shooting angles and techniques, everyone has their own good themes and shooting habits. It is not a bad thing to specialize in the fields he is familiar with, but sometimes he might as well be brave enough to try new themes or techniques and maintain a moderate freshness. Without restrictions, with the innocence of the first camera, you can find more possibilities.
In addition, the same is true of the photographic equipment used. Not only can SLR cameras take good photos, but they are accustomed to the convenience of zoom lenses and have always rejected the use of fixed-focus lenses. Such "self-limitation" is not conducive to the cultivation of photographic observation ability.
Fourth, make good use of sharing channels.
In recent years, the rise of many social networking sites and the popularization and application of various softwares have made "sharing" easier. Anyone can share the captured images anytime and anywhere through mobile phones, and can study, discuss and encourage each other with like-minded friends, which is also a great pleasure of photography.
