Color the core with ACR and analyze the depth with HSL panel, so that the color of the photo can be changed at will.

Hello, I'm a senior. I shared the interface of the camera raw data filter and the usage of the "Basic" panel.

After reading the partners of the above two issues, I believe you have a certain understanding of Camera Raw, which is a built-in filter plug-in of PS, referred to as ACR.

When we import a file in Raw format, ACR will automatically load it.

Raw file is the original file shot by a professional camera, which can record all the original information of the camera at the shooting scene, including the ideal color gamut, as well as the white balance information and tone information of all the lights at the scene. So if you have a camera, you'd better shoot in Raw format.

The file extensions of Raw format photographed by brand cameras are compared as follows.

Besides containing more original shooting information, the file in Raw format has a larger bit depth and is more suitable for post-processing. Therefore, taking photos with a camera and using Raw format as far as possible can get the best effect in the later color matching.

Next, an example is used to illustrate the application of ACR in color matching in the later stage of photography.

The first two issues have explained the ACR "basic" panel in detail. If you haven't learned it yet, let me see the detailed introduction, otherwise it will be difficult to understand this case tutorial.

This issue will analyze the HSL panel in depth. Only by mastering the working principle of HSL can practice make perfect and make the color of photos change at will.

First, the depth analysis of Hefei light source.

1, HSB color mode

As we all know, any color or image is composed of red, green and blue in three different proportions, which is RGB.

1, HSB color mode

In order to express colors more intuitively, there is also the HSB color mode.

Hue H( Hue): On the standard color wheel of 0 ~ 360, the hue is measured by position. Usually, tones are identified by color names, such as red, green or orange.

Saturation S( saturation): refers to the intensity or purity of color. Saturation indicates the proportion of color components in hue, which is measured by the percentage from 0 (gray) to 100% (completely saturated). On the standard color wheel, the saturation gradually increases from the center to the edge.

Brightness B: It is the relative lightness and darkness of a color, usually measured by the percentage from 0 (black) to 100% (white).

As shown below, open a photo with PS, and use shortcut key I to enable the eyedropper tool. Click anywhere in the image to view the HSB value.

2. 60-degree theory of color phase ring

In PS, colors are divided into six parts, namely red (0), yellow (60), green (120), cyan (180), blue (240) and magenta (300).

The transition between them is plus 60, red plus 60 is yellow, yellow plus 60 is green, green plus 60 is green, green plus 60 is blue, blue plus 60 is magenta, and magenta plus 60 is red.

It just forms a closed loop, and there are six transitional colors between these six colors. For example, the transition color between red and yellow is orange (30). The transition color between blue and magenta is purple (270).

The following color ring must be understood and remembered, which is of great help to the later color matching.

Usually, you can use the straw tool +HSB panel to look at the numbers and get the corresponding degrees to judge the hue, so you can recite them quickly after repeated practice.

3.HSL panel principle

From RGB to HSB to HSL, we are all talking about color theory. The fourth color palette of ACR is HSL.

Although there is only one letter difference from HSB, their meanings are not the same.

HSL is the abbreviation of hue, saturation and lightness.

Hue is the basic attribute of color, which is the same principle as mentioned above.

Saturation refers to the purity of color. The higher the saturation, the purer and stronger the color. The lower the saturation, the grayer and brighter the color.

Brightness refers to the brightness of a color. The higher the brightness value, the whiter the color, and the lower the brightness value, the darker the color.

4. Use of 4.HSL

In HLS panel, according to the principle of color phase ring, the hue, saturation and lightness of color are divided into eight parts, and each part has a small slider.

These eight color sliders correspond to the eight main colors of nature mentioned above, such as red, orange, yellow, green, cyan (light green), blue, purple and magenta. You can change the color of the image by adjusting the slider.

Move the hue slider to the right (add a value) and the color will be projected clockwise in the color circle.

When the hue slider moves to the left (minus this value), the color will be projected counterclockwise in the color circle.

After understanding the above two sentences, we learned the hue adjustment of HSL.

I prepared a color change for you. You can use PS to open, load ACR, open HSL panel, try to drag sliders with different colors and observe the color change.

You can also draw a color ring, as shown below.

Open PS to create a new square layer, draw the center point with the reference line, and draw a circle with the elliptical marquee tool, so that the center point of the circle coincides with the center point of the layer.

The shortcut key g calls the gradient tool. Select the built-in seven-color gradient device, and select "Angle gradient" as the drawing method. Pulling a straight line from the center is the color ring.

Tone adjustment (e.g. red):

Drag the slider to the left-100, and the adjacent colors on the right and red will become magenta.

Drag the slider+100 to the right, and the color adjacent to red and the right will turn orange.

That is, when you drag the color slider, the color will move between the left and right adjacent color bands, but it will not cross the adjacent colors.

You can try other colors, observe and be familiar with the color changes.

Saturation adjustment (taking red as an example):

Drag the slider-100 to the left, and the color of the red area will fade.

The reason why it is not completely gray is because this part of the color will also be affected by orange. Drag the orange slider to the left-100. The whole red area turns gray.

Brightness level is easy to understand, darkening to the left and brightening to the right.

Drag the slider to the left to darken it.

Drag the slider to the right to make it bright.

Second, HSL color matching case

1. Open a photo. As can be seen from the photos, some colors in the background are messy, and we can optimize them in all directions through the HSL panel.

2. Switch to the HSL panel and select the saturation tab. In this tab, reduce the saturation of yellow, green and light green.

As can be seen from the original picture, reducing the saturation of yellow can weaken the color of plants irradiated by light in the background of the upper left corner of the picture. After reducing the saturation of these colors, the colors of the picture no longer jump excessively, which seems to be much more coordinated.

3. Switch to "Brightness" and reduce the brightness of "yellow", "light green" and "green" appropriately, so that the brightness of these colors will be reduced and darkened, making the characters more prominent.

4. Improve the brightness of orange appropriately, because no matter white people, yellow people or black people, the components in the character's skin color are orange. Therefore, improving the brightness of Zeng color can brighten the skin color of the characters and make the skin color of the theme characters in the picture brighter.

This completes the color optimization and adjustment, as shown below.

As the saying goes, it is better to practice the tutorial once than to watch it a hundred times. After reading this issue, remember to find a photo you took, load it into ACR and try to color it.

Well, this issue is over. If you don't understand anything about this question, you can leave a message at the bottom, and the senior will answer it for you at the first time.
