Optimum proportion in photography
It has always been a question worth thinking about where to put the subject or the center of interest in the picture, but if we know the composition law of the golden section, the problem will become very easy.
The golden section is a wonderful numerical proportion and a classic aesthetic law. The golden section was first seen in ancient Greece and Egypt. That is to say, a line segment is divided into two segments A and B, and the ratio of short segment A to long segment B is 0.6 180339, which is the golden ratio.
When applied to photography, the simplest method is to arrange the ratios of countless groups such as 2:3, 3:5, 5:8, 8: 13, 13:2 1 according to the golden section ratio of 0.6 18, and the ratios of these numbers are all 0.6/kloc.
The commonly used dichotomy in photographic composition is the evolution of golden section. Divide the length and width of a rectangular picture into three equal parts, and the whole picture is divided into the shape of a well. The intersection point of cross-shaped segmentation is the best position of the main body (visual center) of the picture, and it is the visual beauty point that is most likely to arouse people's visual interest.
In addition, people have a habit of reading pictures and books, that is, looking from left to right. After moving, the viewpoint often falls on the right, so it is best to put the main scenery and eye-catching images on the right when composing.
Many digital cameras provide frames similar to TIC-tac-toe games to assist in framing, which is convenient for photographers to accurately determine the position of the golden section.
Many basic laws of photographic composition have evolved on the basis of the golden section. But it is worth reminding that every photo is composed in full accordance with the golden section method, which is unnecessary and impossible. The sameness will make people feel monotonous.
Beginners can choose "golden section method" to practice composition. After many times of practice, with my own experience and understanding, I can create my own works according to the actual situation. If everything is the same, it is not advisable to copy mechanically. For a long time, it will bind your creative thinking and make photos stable, lack of change, poor and tasteless, and have no artistry.
Using the golden section method to determine the position of the subject does not complete the whole process of composition. We should also pay attention to arranging the necessary space, consider the echo between the theme and peers, and fully express the ideological content of the theme. At the same time, we should also consider hue, light treatment, color expression and so on.
In order to improve basic skills, seriously study aesthetic knowledge and strengthen aesthetic cultivation, it is also very important to constantly sum up and accumulate experience through shooting practice, so as to shoot more photos with higher artistic level.
Other composition methods: S-shaped composition, symmetrical composition, balanced composition, circular composition, L-shaped composition, cutting composition and patchwork composition.
